00:00Alexa, our featured wager this week is going to be the late pick five sequence from Delmar
00:07on Saturday.
00:08That's going to start in race number seven.
00:10It will include the Pacific Classic that we just previewed and a couple other graded stakes
00:15races.
00:16So we'll go back and forth and let everybody know out there some of the horses that we
00:19each like in each of those races.
00:21Why don't you start it off for us in race number seven?
00:23Yeah, race seven is a mile and a sixteenth on the turf.
00:27So with the long race, it's four horses that are bred in California.
00:31And I like the number four Lord tripping ten to one odds.
00:35And the factors that drew me to this horse is the improvement that we saw last out compared
00:40to his previous race.
00:41He got second by just a neck, but improved his time for me as speed figures by quite
00:46a few points.
00:47And, you know, there are a number of things that I think could have influenced that improvement,
00:52including him having a new jockey, the fact that the race was a longer distance or that
00:57it was at Delmar instead of Santa Anita, or it could be some kind of combination of all
01:01of these things.
01:02But he gets all those same conditions today and had a really fast work last week to back
01:07it all up.
01:08I also like the number five, don't fight the Fed two and a half to one odds.
01:12And this son of Mike was recently started trying out turf racing.
01:16And those have been his best performances time from us gives him the best early speed
01:21in the race.
01:22And while he does like to win on the lead, we've seen him come from a tracking position
01:25as well.
01:26So I think versatility is going to be really valuable in this competitive race.
01:31Both the nine and 11 are logical.
01:33The nine pure madness won his only start on the turf, stylishly acclaimed.
01:38The 11 came off of a very long layoff and he won on the turf last time out.
01:42So they make a lot of sense.
01:43The one who's kind of sneaky in here is the two McGregor Lake because he's had a couple
01:47trouble trips in his last two races on the grass.
01:50One of them was going short.
01:51One of them was going a little bit longer.
01:54He is a closer, so he could get stuck in some traffic trouble.
01:57That's an issue with him, but sometimes it actually builds up the price on a horse like
02:00McGregor Lake.
02:01And as you look at the, the time form U.S. card for each horse, you can see all the different
02:06resources, all the different features.
02:08It's really cool.
02:09It's visual.
02:10It helps us see, get all the information, but also see what the pace will look like
02:14in each race.
02:15Alexa, why don't you start us off in race number eight, talk about a couple of the horses
02:19that you like in here.
02:20Yeah.
02:21So I like the number one in here, Brightleaf, he ran his best lifetime, best last out for
02:26John Sadler and Hronus Racing and won by four and a half lengths.
02:29And he was actually claimed out of that race, which basically means he was bought from that
02:32race.
02:33So this will be his first start for his new connections.
02:36And he's easily the strongest closer in the race.
02:38So I think he should be a factor late in the game, but my favorite selection in this race
02:43and honestly throughout the whole card is the number nine Fast Draw Munnings.
02:48This is just one of my best plays.
02:50He's eight to one and he won a race very similar to this one last year at Del Mar.
02:55And I think we're getting these longer odds on him because he's coming off nearly an entire
03:00year layoff.
03:01But that was the same, that was the case last time.
03:04And he won off of the long layoff then.
03:06So clearly he can be ready.
03:08His trainer, Jeff Mullins wins 22% of the time with over a $2 ROI when his horses come
03:14after these long breaks.
03:20And I think we're getting these longer odds on him because he's coming off nearly an entire
03:23year layoff when his horses come after these long breaks.
