00:00Yeah, so, of course, you know, before, I mean, ever since, like, while I was growing up and
00:10even, even presently also, honestly, the strength, I mean, in number is not as much as the male
00:17colleagues, my male counterparts. So, of course, I cannot walk away from the fact that females
00:21are not that many in the profession. But still, I mean, like, I'm definitely trying to set
00:27a good precedent, a strong precedent that, you know, that females can also do well in
00:31this profession, because this is highly considered as a highly male-dominated profession. This
00:35is always considered like that. So while I was, of course, starting out also, I was always
00:39told by several people that, hey, you know what, ultimately, why don't you just get married
00:44and have a chill life and, you know, be a housewife. You know, all these, of course,
00:49I was told a lot of things by a lot of people, but I really never, I always remained undeterred
00:55is what I maintain. And, and then I have, of course, I mean, with my conduct and with
01:01my journey, I think I've answered a lot of people that how it goes. I mean, you don't
01:06necessarily, I mean, you may call it a male-dominated profession, but me being a female, a young
01:10female, I have, I think, created, I have created quite a legacy for myself in the profession.
01:15I'm still continuing to, aiming to, with each work, with each day, because I'm working,
01:20I'm striving to make myself better each day with my work. And I think gender has nothing
01:25to do with it. So I think gender barriers have definitely collapsed with my own journey
01:30is what I can say.
01:36Yes. So, of course, a lot of things were told. She, I mean, a lot of allegations were made
01:45against my client. And of course, she maintained a dignified silence up to an extent in the
01:50beginning. But when, you know, things escalated to an extent where a 11-year-old child was
01:54being targeted, 11-year-old child was being termed as an illegitimate child. And, you
01:59know, there were several media articles also, I have to say this, without any verification,
02:04these articles were carried out without any verification, without even just, you know,
02:08without even seeking any explanation, irresponsibly, irresponsibly, I will say certain media articles
02:14were also carried out. And what happened next was that, of course, then, you know, the motherly
02:19instinct and hurls, of course, made her decide that she has to speak up against it. Because
02:27it, because every day constantly, you know, derogatory and defamatory stuff is being posted
02:33against you. I mean, and then it is beyond your tolerance. And that is when she decided
02:38to speak up. And then we have taken legal action. And thereafter, of course, the stepdaughter
02:46has already taken down a lot of posts, all the defamatory posts, and she has pulled down,
02:52she's even deleted one of her accounts. So, which somehow is an acknowledgement of her
02:56wrongdoing. But still, we haven't received the public apology yet. We are waiting for
03:00that. And anyway, of course, we will start with the process. I mean, we will have to
03:06file a case in the court. We'll proceed with our case in the court. Because up until now,
03:10we haven't received any response regarding the notice.
03:12No, there is no, see, an apology means a clear, unequivocal apology. You know, just mixed
03:25signals is not what you call an apology. You know, that could mean probably acknowledgement
03:30of wrongdoing, but definitely not an apology. Because once you defame somebody, and then
03:35later on, you just pull them down. But what about all the defamatory posts that have gone
03:39viral everywhere, in terms of so many articles, so many media articles, you know, a number
03:44of media articles.
03:45Presently, we, of course, there has been a very polite request to the media house regarding
03:56the whole situation. I mean, media has been, a large section of the media has been very
04:01good also, and has been very kind. So we cannot walk away from that factor also. But
04:05then we have, you know, requested my client, I mean, we have requested the media politely
04:10to be very sensitive in a matter like this, because this is this, of course, involves
04:15familial dynamics. So to be responsible also, and at the same time, a little sensitive to
04:20the fact of the situation, and not blow everything out of proportion and not report anything
04:26just without verification.
04:32So, that's a good question. Because, you know, it's very important that people also become
04:37more aware about defamation laws. Because, you know, since this could also set a very
04:42good precedent, a strong precedent, when you know, somebody attempts to tarnish your reputation,
04:46there are consequences, and you have to face the consequences. So, if you ask me about
04:52the remedies available, the civil defamation suit, you can file for damages in the Honourable
04:58High Court or City Civil, depending upon the monetary damages, it could, if it exceeds
05:0210 crores, the damages that you're claiming, it will go before the Bombay High Court. And
05:07if it is within, if it is not up to that extent, or if it is not beyond 10 CR, then it goes
05:12to City Civil Court. And then other than that, there is another remedy, which is criminal
05:18proceedings, criminal defamation case, which you can file in the local jurisdiction of
05:23the Magistrate Court, where the complainant resides. So, we will file it in the local
05:27jurisdiction of the Magistrate Court. And of course, we have immense faith in the judiciary
05:31and we know that, I mean, the whole attempt has been, you know, quite prima facie, if
05:38you see, the attempt was to tarnish her reputation, and she has suffered immensely on account
05:42of that. And now, of course, we will proceed with the case, since we haven't responded,
05:49since we haven't received the response regarding the notice.
