00:50Hello and welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from the Lesotho studios in
00:53Havana, Cuba.
00:54We begin with the news.
00:55In Palestine, the Israeli regime continues its genocidal war against the people of Gaza
01:18with special viciousness against the health system and its personnel.
01:22In one of their latest bombing raids on Kamat Adwan Hospital, Israeli forces wounded a doctor
01:27and five other people.
01:29The attack targeted the hospital's main electrogenator, which caused its destruction, and also perforated
01:34the water tanks seeking to leave the patients without oxygen and water.
01:38Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health condemned the attack and renewed its appeal to international
01:43and humanitarian institutions to provide protection to hospitals and health personnel in the Gaza
01:48Strip as stipulated by international law.
01:53Similarly, in Lebanon, an airstrike on the Dar Awa University Hospital killed its director
02:02Ali Rakan Alam and six other doctors.
02:05This was confirmed by the Ministry of Health, from where they denounced the persistent aggressions
02:10of the Israeli forces against health personnel and medical facilities, in addition to other
02:15aerial bombardments in the south of the country caused the death of at least five paramedics.
02:20More than 226 people associated with the country's medical personnel have died in the last 13 months.
02:26In other news, in Venezuela, the Electoral Commissions were installed for the elections
02:45of communal peace judges, a progress that will strengthen communal power and bring justice
02:50closer to the people.
02:52The National Electoral Commission, headed by Deputy Pedro Infante, made official from
02:56the Legislative Palace in Caracas 24 commissions with representatives from each of the states.
03:02These commissions, according to the law, will be integrated by a spokesman from the Ministry
03:06of Communes and one from the Supreme Court, one from the National Assembly and one from
03:10the National Electoral Council of each state.
03:12In this context, the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, also announced
03:16the number of judges to be elected and the requirements for the upcoming elections.
03:26On December 15, President, 30,000 judges of the peace will be elected, 15,000 principal
03:34judges of the peace and 15,000 substitute judges of the peace.
03:39This will be done with the help of the National Electoral Council and the Republic Plan.
03:44A voting center will be opened for each one of the communal circuits.
03:48That means 5,000 voting centers.
03:51All the inhabitants of the communal circuit over 15 years of age will be able to vote
04:01because the law establishes the participation of the young people who also have a very active
04:06participation in the affairs of the communes and the communal councils.
04:11The only requirement to vote on December 15 will be the laminated identity card.
04:16All the security elements of the National Electoral Council will be available.
04:21They will decide on the voting booklet.
04:23The electoral ballot is a very simple ballot in which, after this whole process that starts
04:29today, people will be able to choose the candidates by the communal councils or by the neighborhood
04:35associations or by their own initiative.
04:41Colombian President Gustavo Petro insisted on a need to review the trade agreements with
04:45the United States and Europe, considering them detrimental to national sovereignty.
04:49During a meeting with retired workers of the former national telecommunications company
04:53Telecom, the head of state assured that the agreement with the foreigners should never
04:57have been carried out.
04:58He also rejected that the differences be settled in foreign courts, where Colombia usually
05:02loses all the lawsuits.
05:04In this sense, the Colombian President instructed the Minister of Commerce, Luis Carlos Reyes,
05:09to initiate negotiations for the renegotiation of the agreement.

05:34In Nicaragua, the National Assembly approved several constitutional reforms.
05:44Vice President Rosario Murillo described the legislative decision as a historic milestone.
05:49The Vice President emphasized that the bill approved in the first legislature strengthens
05:53the representation of the people and guarantees fundamental rights for all.
05:57It also supports the efforts of thousands of families who work daily for a future free
06:01of poverty committed to the best future for Nicaragua.
06:09And in Honduras, the first trade fair of the People's Republic of China was inaugurated.
06:14The event was organized by the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade and
06:20the Secretariat of Economic Development of Honduras at the Expo Center of the Chamber
06:24of Commerce and Industries of Cortez in the city of San Pedro Sula.
06:28The activity takes place from November 21st to the 24th, and it is the largest exhibition
06:33organized by China and Honduras since the establishment of diplomatic relations between
06:36both countries.
06:38China injects dynamism into the world economy, offers new opportunities for global development
06:42and opens new prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations.
06:50Meanwhile, in Mexico, the alliance of the national and regional governments resulted
06:58in the arrest of public administration officials for their alleged links to organized crime.
07:03Through the so-called Operation Swarm, seven officials were arrested in the state of Mexico
07:08among the municipal presidents and security directors.
07:11They are charged with the crimes of extortion, express kidnapping and homicide.
07:16According to the Ministry of Justice, these officials were supporting the criminal activities
07:19of criminal groups in municipalities such as Amanalco, Santo Tomas and Neucalpan, among
07:25others.
07:26Members of the Ministry of Security, the Ministry of Defense, the Navy, the Public Prosecutor's
07:30Office and the National Intelligence Center, among other state forces, participated in
07:34the operation.
07:41Mexican-Poresian Klaue Sheinbaum responded to the accusations that have been made from
07:44Mexico and Canada about her trade relationship with North America and China.
07:48Our correspondent Daniela Rosa with the details.
07:53The Mexican president denied that trade with China could affect the treaty that Mexico
07:58has with the United States and Canada, as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said.
08:04This idea that Chinese products are entering through Mexico to take them to the United
08:08States is not correct.
08:13There have been real and genuine concerns raised about Chinese investment into Mexico
08:20that I brought up directly with the Mexican president, that a number of people have noted,
08:24that I know the three countries are going to have to lean in and work on.
08:30Sheinbaum, therefore, was surprised by the decontextualized journalistic versions that
08:35have pointed out that Mexico wants to be excluded from the trade agreement.
08:39Ideally, we do that as a united North American market, but pending decisions and choices
08:48that Mexico has made, we may have to look at other options.
08:51But let me just say it again, my ideal situation is we continue to work well together.
08:59I discussed it at the time with the Prime Minister of Canada.
09:02We have to see in particular what he meant by Mexico's decision, because he knows that
09:06our intention is to continue with the treaty.
09:13She therefore distanced herself from the versions that seek to damage not only Mexico's relationship
09:18with its neighbors, but also China.
09:22Let's see, the United States has a lot of imports from China.
09:25In fact, it was part of an economic project for many years of the United States itself.
09:35Mexico imports more from China than it exports to China.
09:39The imbalance amounts to $80 billion, so a plan was announced.
09:45We are going to look at what products we are overbuying in China to try to make them in
09:51North America or Mexico.
09:56Mexico is preparing a report on the positive results of the North American trade agreement,
10:01which will be reviewed in 2026.
10:03Meanwhile, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump nominated four new Cabinet members.
10:12The most controversial Cabinet nomination was that of ultra-conservative Project 2025
10:17architect Russel Vought to head the Office of Management and Budget for his future administration.
10:23The president said Vought has spent several years working on public policy in Washington,
10:27knowing that he is an aggressive cost-cutter who will be a blessing to the U.S. citizens.
10:33He also nominated former football players Scott Turner, Latino Congresswoman Lori Chavez
10:39de Rimmer as Secretary of Labor, and Scott Besant as Investor and Fund Manager to the
10:45Housing and Urban Development portfolio.

11:16Welcome back.
11:17Discussions on rich countries' contribution to climate action financing developing countries
11:21continue amid protests in the capital of Serbia, host of COP 29.
11:25The debate was prolonged after the rejection of the initial $250 million cap, which sparked
11:30protests from several NGOs.
11:34Protesters are calling for a more equitable and robust climate finance mechanism, arguing
11:38that the current cap and project does not properly address the needs of vulnerable countries
11:42and communities most affected by climate change.
11:45Meanwhile, civil society groups are pushing for transparent and accountable funding, emphasizing
11:49the need for support to be directed to local communities and to address loss and damage.
12:00And in Spain, citizens organized a solidarity mega-concert in the city of Barcelona to raise
12:05funds for reconstruction work following the Dana phenomenon.
12:09The event gathered thousands of people from the country despite the recent heavy rains
12:12in the region to support the Valencian families affected by Dana.
12:16The solidarity mega-concert has been attended by several national bands and Spanish public
12:20figures who urge people to take part in this noble cause.
12:23It is important to highlight that these funds will be used for the reconstruction of educational
12:27and cultural facilities linked to the language and culture of the country.
