00:00The ceremonial switch-on of the Dagohoy Solar Power Project in Bohol was done.

00:06The project is expected to help in the continuation of tourism

00:11and the entry of new investors in the province.

00:26This is the first utility-scale solar power plant in the province of Bohol with 27 MW power.

00:36It has 40,000 solar panels that can be found in the town of Dagohoy

00:41and can supply electricity to more than 15,000 households.

00:46Officials of the Department of Energy arranged the ceremonial switch-on

00:52along with officials of the province of Bohol

00:55under the leadership of Governor Errico Aristotol Omentado.

00:59I'm honored today that as the province expands,

01:03or experience rather, growth and progress,

01:08Petrogrin and our partners are able to deliver our commitment

01:14to the Department of Energy as our principal

01:19and to the province of Bohol by supplying your communities

01:24with clean and indigenous power that can help your long-term vision or goal of energy security.

01:33Today, in the Dagohoy Solar Power Plant, Bohol is 27 MW closer

01:41to achieving energy security and energy sustainability.

01:46According to the LGU of the province of Bohol,

01:49they need more power plants that can supply sustainable and renewable energy

01:56at the same time as the continuous growth of the province.

01:59You see, Bohol is developing now.

02:02In fact, our tourism is booming,

02:05especially now that there are a lot of resorts, big resorts.

02:14Even the PVDEC, the economic zone, is also coming here in Ubay.

02:21So we need more power for this.

02:23500 residents of the province of Dagohoy were also given jobs

02:28through the Solar Power Plant.

02:32According to the Department of Energy,

02:34the Boholans are now proud of their tourists who come here

02:38that 20% of their electricity supply comes from renewable energy

02:44with the help of the sun.
