00:00Some well-known choral groups in the Philippines have received recognition and honor

00:05after the Gintong Parangal Awards that recognized the talent and skills of the groups.

00:12Here is the report.

00:30This is the voice of the seven choral groups that earned the Philippine's honor.

00:40They were the ones who gave recognition to the Gintong Parangal Awards held in Malacanang

00:44led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos.

00:50Each group received P200,000.

00:54As part of the award, they were joined by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamina and Presidential Sister Irene Marcos Araneta.

01:04But the President noticed the tears in their eyes and it seemed like they were emotional while singing.

01:13In his speech, President Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of recognizing the unparalleled talent

01:20and skill of the Filipinos who earned the country's honor.

01:24You have shown, once again, that very important part of the Filipino culture, which is music.

01:33And it is not any music that we are now promoting. It's Filipino music.

01:40The program aims to recognize the unparalleled talent, dedication, and skill of the choral groups

01:46who made a huge contribution to the strengthening of the music and singing industry

01:52that will promote unity, happiness, and national pride.

01:57This is not just a celebration of success, but also to recognize the Filipino world-class talents

02:03who will inspire the next generation of performers of the country.

02:08I hope that tonight will be the beginning of a resurgence of the appreciation of Filipino artists by Filipinos.

02:17And at the end of the program, all the groups gathered here and sang Pamaskong Himiga together.
