00:00I don't think you have an option but to have a personal brand.
00:03It shows that these people are not investing in struggling founders,
00:07they are investing behind a worthy cause.
00:09That really takes you up in people's eyes.
00:11The biggest brands in the world have not been built by founders as the brand.
00:17I don't think so.
00:30Would you recommend folks to basically have their own brand, like a personal brand or
00:43do you think as people who have been founders before you all got thrust into this or do
00:47you feel like the sort of behind the scenes founder is the way to go?
00:51I don't think you have an option but to have a personal brand because I think we are living
00:56in a time where people are spending 7-8 hours on their mobile devices.
01:00And I personally always used to be like, so between me and my husband, he is the one who
01:04loves social media, I used to be like this super introvert.
01:07But then I remember one time we just posted something and suddenly journalists were calling
01:12and we were like, if this helps the business, why not?
01:15You know, extend that to 2022, I think there's no option.
01:18You have to have a voice because young people, they don't trust ads, they trust authenticity.
01:23So a brand is equal to authenticity, which comes from your voice and you need to have
01:28a voice and voice it.
01:30Brand popularity, yes, it happens all over India.
01:32People know both.
01:33But does that affect the purchase decision?
01:35I don't think so.
01:36But people will still look at the product, look at the value proposition and buy.
01:40Not because it's Aman's product or Piyush's product, I don't think that happens in India.
01:44Shark Tank is a lot about building your personal brand as well.
01:46Whatever investments we have made, we talk about it but we don't know how much, what
01:50will happen, when.
01:51So why are we spending all this time?
01:53Vinita said something about authenticity.
01:55In this day and age, authenticity matters and it matters the most.
02:00I think trust is very important.
02:02Trust is less in a brand, loyalty changes very quickly.
02:07But trust in a person is first.
02:10So trust leads to authenticity, right?
02:14Or trust comes from authenticity, they're both two sides of the same coin.
02:17And I think this platform offers you that.
02:19It shows that people aren't investing in struggling founders, they're investing in worthy cause.
02:25That really takes you up in people's eyes.
02:27Should founders have a strong brand?
02:30Is that helpful?
02:31It's not clear because the biggest brands in the world have not been built by founders
02:38as the brand.
02:38It's not like that.
02:39So I don't know the answer.
02:41You don't eat KFC?
02:43No.
02:45I don't think it is necessary.
02:46And I don't think Shark Tank, at least in my mind, is still a brand.
02:50Yes, it has a side effect on the brand.
02:54There are pros and cons also.
02:55Because when it works well, it works well.
02:57And the negative side, you have to bear with that.
02:59So it would be difficult to say that you come to Shark Tank to build your personal brand
03:04or build your product brand.
03:05You're coming to Shark Tank for a very different reason.
03:07If you want to meet an entrepreneur, invest, that is the reality.
03:10Now the brand is having an impact because of that.
03:13Right?
03:14Someone is getting good, someone is getting bad.
03:15It will not be like this forever.
03:18If you think like this through Shark Tank, you will create an awareness of 150 crores,
03:23200 crores, you can think like this.
03:25When your name is coming up again and again.
03:27If you don't have a good product, no matter how much you add, you don't sell the product.
03:30So I think product is the main thing.
03:31Whatever successful product you learn, whether it's Apple or Tesla,
03:35if it's a good product, then the product is being sold.
03:36Founders are not unknown in so many places that you don't know who is behind it.
03:39But product is sold.
