00:00I was on the front page of the Bombay Times
00:02So I thought some magic is going to happen
00:04I'm just going to get in very easily
00:06But no, it didn't happen
00:07It took a good, I think, 8 to 9 months
00:11for me to get my first ad
00:12that too like a side guy, you know
00:14somewhere behind
00:16I won't name that ad
00:17because it's quite embarrassing
00:20That was my first paycheck
00:22I think 2500 rupees
00:23which my mom has still kept in the Mandir
00:30It was more to do with the love for performance
00:42I would say
00:43Acting, I was not very sure
00:44I was a good dancer, I knew
00:47And then I used to perform in my school
00:50In my college, I used to perform
00:52I used to do my annual days and all of that
00:55But I never tried acting till I was, I think, in the 12th grade
00:59And because I knew that I had to do CA
01:02because my dad was a CA
01:03So, I mean, that was the only way to go forward in life
01:07What else would you do?
01:09I mean, to think of being an actor was an impossible dream
01:12So I was very hesitant to tell my dad that I would try it
01:18So I didn't tell him
01:19I just went to this audition
01:20So happening in my college, Mithibai College
01:23I just walked in and I just did what I could for the auditions
01:27And I got selected, did a couple of plays
01:29Before I, you know, I did like theater for like a year
01:32So what I used to do is basically from morning 7 to 12 were my classes
01:38And then after that, I used to go to my college till 4 pm
01:41And then I used to meet my theater friends and jam with them
01:44And I used to only come back home by, I think, 8 or 9
01:47Eat food and then revise what has been taught
01:49I was a very obedient student to my dad and to my teachers
01:53So I did the thing
01:55I tried to clear it and then after a point, I couldn't take it
01:59And then that's when I went to my dad and said
02:03Yeah, I mean, give me like at least 6 to 8 months
02:06Let me just audition because you have to do articleship after that
02:10And I did that for like a couple of months
02:14Couldn't do it any longer
02:15So I went auditioning and I had won this Bromby Times Fresh Face
02:19So I used to walk around with that cutout in my hand in every audition
02:22I didn't know anything
02:23Got a lot of rejections
02:24And I thought I was like, you know, I was on the front page of Bromby Times
02:29So I thought some magic is gonna happen
02:31I'm just gonna get in very easily
02:33But no, it didn't happen
02:34It took a good, I think, 8 to 9 months for me to get my first ad
02:39That to like a side guy, you know, somewhere behind
02:43I won't name that ad because it's quite embarrassing
02:46I'm just there reacting to whatever's happening in the ad
02:49So yeah, I mean, that was my first paycheck
02:52I think 2500 rupees, which my mom has still kept in the mandir
02:55As you know, she believes that that was my first payment
02:59So yeah, that's how it happened
