00:00No. I am your father.
00:04Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the plot twists that still give us goosebumps just thinking about them.
00:11A spoiler alert is in effect.
00:13You met me at a very strange time in my life.
00:27Oh my god.
00:29Charlton Heston plays Taylor, an astronaut who crash lands on a mysterious planet where apes are the dominant species and humans are kept in cages.
00:37Prodded and experimented on, Taylor makes his daring escape with the help of some primate allies.
00:43But as he and his companion Nova walk along the coastline, he comes upon a brutal and shocking discovery.
00:50A crumbling statue of liberty half stuck in the ground.
01:00The planet he crash landed on is Earth.
01:03At least, this is what's left of Earth after a presumed nuclear war.
01:07Planet of the Apes' twist ending was like something out of the best Twilight Zone episodes.
01:12It makes sense. That show's creator, Rod Serling, wrote this ending too.
01:17God damn you! God damn you all to hell!
01:35Throughout this 2016 moody science fiction drama, linguistics expert Louise Banks is trying to figure out how to communicate with the extraterrestrials that have landed on Earth.
01:45Once she deciphers more of their language though, she comes to understand its true power.
01:50Throughout the movie, she is painted as a grieving mother.
01:53Memories of her deceased daughter haunt the story.
01:56But the alien's language actually distorts human perception of time.
02:00And in learning it, we realize Louise has been experiencing flash forwards of a daughter who was yet to be born.
02:07I don't... I don't understand. Who is this child?
02:14She must move forward with the knowledge of all that will happen in her future, the good and the bad.
02:20Louise?
02:22I just realized why my husband left me. My husband left me.
02:27You were married?
02:29Number 8. The Basement. Parasite.
02:32Honey!
02:36Hey! Honey!
02:40This Oscar winning South Korean film uses a creepy thriller plot to illustrate some disturbing and devastating commentary on class dynamics.
02:49A working class family cons their way into the home of a wealthy employer.
02:53But their deception nearly comes to an end one rainy night.
02:57I left my stuff in the basement.
03:02The former housekeeper arrives, explaining that her husband is hiding in the house's creepy basement, living like a prisoner as he hides out from loan sharks.
03:11She will expose their secret if she exposes hers.
03:14That's when the movie goes from a dark comedy about class strife to an all out horror show.
03:27Number 7. Amy's Diary. Gone Girl.
03:30I am so much happier now that I'm dead.
03:38Technically missing. Soon to be presumed dead.
03:43Just as its lead character seems to have two separate halves, Gone Girl feels like two different movies.
03:49At its halfway point, Amy Dunn is revealed to be the mastermind behind her own disappearance.
03:55She narrates the details of her nefarious plot against her husband without emotion.
03:59From her secret pregnancy to the diary entries we've been hearing in voiceover, it's all been faked.
04:05Designed to paint her as a perfect victim and her husband as a cold-blooded killer.
04:10To fake a convincing murder you have to have discipline.
04:13The lengths Amy goes to to convince everyone she's been murdered is enough to put anyone off of marriage for a long time.
04:20What are you thinking?
04:26How are you feeling?
04:30What have we done to each other?
04:32Number 6. The Real Story. Atonement.
04:36My sister and Robbie were never able to have the time together.
04:41They both so longed for and deserved.
04:46Brian E. Tallis accuses a man of a crime he did not commit and its effect is felt for decades afterward.
04:53Her sister's doomed love affair with a boy from a lower social status was always going to be difficult.
04:59But her accusation kept them apart for years.
05:02The movie follows Brian E. as she comes to realize her mistake and tries to rectify it.
05:07In the last scene though, we learn that the second half of the movie was actually the product of Brian E.'s novel.
05:13The two lovers never met again after that fateful night.
05:16Both died tragically, robbed of the happy ending they deserved.
05:20I gave them their happiness.
05:29Number 5. They Are The Ghosts. The Others.
05:33Is that how she killed you?
05:37With a pillow?
05:39There's plenty of mystery and intrigue going on in this post-World War II haunted house thriller.
05:44Nicole Kidman plays Grace, a war widow whose two children are extremely sensitive to sunlight.
05:50The arrival of new servants sets in motion a chain of horrifying events that convinces the family their house has been invaded by ghosts.
05:59The ghosts. Why aren't they wearing sheets and clanking chains?
06:03Who said that?
06:04I don't care what I said! Get away from them!
06:06In its final sequence, we learn that Grace went mad when her husband failed to return from the war and she and her children died by her own hand.
06:15They are the ghosts in this ghost story.
06:17The supernatural events have been caused by the new owners who are trying to cast the spirits of Grace and her children out of the house.
06:25The Lord in his great mercy was giving me another chance.
06:33Number 4. A Tangled Web. Old Boy.
06:48A relentless action-packed thriller from South Korea, Oh Dae-su is a man imprisoned by a mysterious man for several years.
06:56His bloody quest for answers is complicated when he falls in love with a young chef named Mido.
07:02When he finally faces his enemy, Dae-su is presented with a photo album of his wife and daughter, who's growing up he missed due to his imprisonment.
07:11To his horror, the album reveals that Mido is Dae-su's daughter.
07:25His entire ordeal is a long-standing and vicious revenge plot carried out by a former schoolmate.
07:31The revelation and its aftermath are chilling to watch unfold.
07:48Number 3. Kaiser Soze's Identity. The Usual Suspects.
07:53Kaiser Soze or no Kaiser Soze. If Keaton is alive, he's not coming up again.
08:00I'll find him.
08:01Dave Kuyon, a customs agent, is assigned to investigate a deadly shootout.
08:06Told in flashback and mostly through the point of view of a supposed low-level criminal verbal kint, The Usual Suspects is a dizzying crime movie with a devilish plot twist.
08:16Its enigmatic story culminates in one of the greatest movie reveals.
08:20Kint is not all what he seems.
08:22It isn't until he leaves his interrogation that Agent Kuyon realizes that the man was spinning a yarn for him.
08:29What lawyer verbal?
08:30I am Mr. Kobayashi.
08:31Kobayashi. Kobayashi. Tell me every last detail.
08:35I work for Kaiser Soze.
08:36Convince me. Convince me. Convince me.
08:38Kint is Kaiser Soze, the feared criminal mastermind he told Agent Kuyon all about.
08:44He pieced his entire story together using details he found around the agent's office.
08:49The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.
08:55Number 2. Malcolm is a Ghost. The Sixth Sense.
08:59They only see what they want to see.
09:03This blockbuster ghost movie created a sensation when first released.
09:07Young Cole Sears' confession that he can see dead people became a meme before memes were even a thing.
09:12But its most incredible stroke of genius was its late reveal that Dr. Malcolm Crowe, a child psychologist, did not survive the first scene.
09:21Which sees him shot by a disturbed former patient.
09:24His wife's coldness to him and the fact that no other character ever speaks to him suddenly makes so much sense.
09:31I see people. They don't know they're dead.
09:40He's been dead the entire time.
09:42Director M. Night Shyamalan would have to keep topping himself with every new movie.
09:46Unfortunately, no new plot twist may ever freak us out like this one did.
09:51You sleep now.
09:55Everything will be different in the morning.
09:57Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:02A double act. The Prestige.
10:04Magician Alfred Borden's illusions are made possible by his twin brother.
10:09We were both family. And we were both Borden.
10:15Tyler Durden's identity. Fight Club.
10:18The narrator realizes he is actually his alter ego.
10:22Oh no. Tyler's not here. Tyler went away. Tyler's gone.
10:25What? This is impossible. No. This is crazy.
10:29People do it every day. They talk to themselves. They see themselves as they'd like to be.
10:34They don't have the courage you have to just run with it.
10:37The Body. Saw.
10:39The mastermind of the torture game was in the room the whole time.
10:42Game over.
10:45There is no Aaron. Primal Fear.
10:48The case of split personalities is not what it seems.
10:51There never was an Aaron, counselor.
10:56We all go a little mad. Scream.
10:59The movie crazed killer finally reveals himself.
11:02Stu's flipped out. He's gone mad.
11:05We all go a little mad sometimes.
11:07No.

11:24The Truth About Mother. Psycho.
11:28Alfred Hitchcock's suspense masterpiece pulled the rug out from under its audience several times.
11:33Killing off its lead character halfway through the movie and in such iconic fashion,
11:38made Psycho a destabilizing experience for 1960s audiences.
11:42It was also wild to think a little bit about how the movie was going to end up.
11:46It was going to end up being a bit of a tragedy.
11:49It was going to end up being a bit of a tragedy.
11:52It was also wild to think a little old lady was behind the butchery at the Bates Motel.
11:55It was also wild to think a little old lady was behind the butchery at the Bates Motel.
12:00But the revelation that the mild-mannered motel proprietor Norman Bates was the killer,
12:05carrying out his crimes while dressed as his mother no less,
12:08flipped the script on movie villains forever.
12:11Bernard Herrmann's shrill score and Anthony Perkins' unhinged performance in the reveal scene
12:24are forever burned into movie lovers' brains.
12:32What's a movie reveal you'll never forget? Let us know in the comments.
12:36Anything we tell you about who you are, what you've done,
12:39you can dismiss as lies, Andrew.
12:41My name is Edward Daniels.
12:43I've been hearing this fantasy for two years now. I know every detail.
