00:00A total of 119 illegal immigrants were arrested at the Pandan Miwa apartment in Ampang on
00:08Tuesday.
00:09The arrests were made during a joint operation by the Immigration Department, Ampang Jaya
00:14Municipal Council, Royal Malaysian Police and National Registration Department.
00:20According to Selangor Immigration Director Kairul Aminus Kamaruddin, 400 foreigners were
00:25screened during the operation, which took place from 6pm to 11am.
00:30Of these, 89 Myanmar nationals, 14 Bangladeshis, 8 Nepalis, 4 Indonesians and 4 Indians aged
00:38between 18 and 50 were arrested.
00:41The offences included violations under the Immigration Act, such as overstaying and not
00:46possessing any valid pass or permit to be in Malaysia.
00:51All detainees were sent to the Semenya Immigration Depot.
00:56Five premises were also inspected during the operation, and two were sealed for employing
01:01foreigners without valid permits.
01:04Kairul Aminus said the public and employers are urged not to harbour illegal immigrants,
01:09warning that they will face legal action.
