00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s visit to the UAE was fruitful.

00:04The Philippines and the UAE agreed to strengthen cooperation in various fields.

00:09Kenneth Paciente of PTV returns with the country's latest news.

00:17That's how President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. described his one-day working visit to the United Arab Emirates.

00:24In his visit, the Executive Board laid out the country's readiness

00:29to deepen the relationship between the Philippines and the UAE.

00:32The signed agreements proved that the two countries will benefit from each other.

00:39I look forward to the implementation of several bilateral agreements

00:42in culture, energy transition, legal cooperation, artificial intelligence,

00:48digital economy, the improvement of government activities,

00:51visa waiver for holders of diplomatic, special and official passports, and investment cooperation.

00:58In his visit to UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nayyan,

01:03the Executive Board recognized the efforts of the UAE government

01:07to take care of the 700,000 Filipinos there.

01:10The UAE President also praised the great contribution of the Filipino community

01:14in the establishment of the Gulf State.

01:16I thank Sheikh Al Nayyan for understanding that my visit had to be cut short

01:21given the need to attend to relief and reconstruction activities in communities

01:26devastated by successive typhoons.

01:28I also conveyed appreciation for the UAE's government's constant humanitarian support

01:34for victims of these natural calamities.

01:36The President also invited the UAE President to visit the country

01:40to continue the talks and discuss the additional areas of cooperation.

01:46The Chief Executive of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also assisted.

01:54The two also discussed the strengthening of the partnership between the Philippines and the UAE,

01:59especially in the sector of tourism and investment.

02:03The first step was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation

02:09between the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts of the Philippines

02:13and the Ministry of Culture of the UAE.

02:15His Highness Sheikh Al Latifah bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also assisted.

02:21He is also the Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority

02:24to provide a path for the reconciliation between the two countries

02:28in the sector of culture and the arts.
