00:12The Rice For All program will start this December where you can buy Murang Bigas not only to the President's officials, but also to the public families.
00:22According to the Department of Agriculture, contrary to Executive Order No. 62, which reduces the price from 15% to 35% which should lower the price of regular and well-milled rice from Php 37 to Php 38 per kilo, according to the Department of Agriculture Assistant Secretary Arnel Demesa, according to the 45 to 55 pesos per kilo price of Murang Bigas,
00:44the Rice For All program aims to correct and encourage retailers to follow the correct price.
00:50It's one way to correct the market. Our retailers know that the price of regular and well-milled rice should be the same.
00:59So, like we mentioned, if the farmers are able to sell at this price, it could serve as a reference price when the price should be the same.
01:11According to Arnel, a retailer in the market, it's okay for them to have a competition in selling rice, but the question is, will they be able to keep up with the price?
01:20Because we are just doing business, we are not like them. Of course, they are the government, they can afford to give a price like that.
01:26We can afford to give a lower price, but it's just a small difference from them. We can't afford to give a price like that.
01:33At the beginning, according to the program, well-milled rice can be purchased at the price of 42 pesos per kilo.
01:39And unlike before, there is no limit to how much rice can be purchased.
01:43Meanwhile, the Rice For All program is a target for the DA to enter the public markets in December in the NCR.
