00:00In Palestine, the Israeli occupation army continues with its indiscriminate attacks
00:14against the civilian population in Gaza, killing dozens during the last hours.
00:22The United States will present on Monday its priorities at the head of the United Nations
00:26Security Council.
00:27The body will share as of December, despite its questionable vetoes on key issues such
00:31as the Gaza cease-fire.
00:32And in Venezuela, the demonstration called by the far-right opposition leader María
00:41Corina Machado failed after registering an evidently low attendance despite being strongly
00:47promoted by international media.
00:54Hello and welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Televiso Studios in Havana,
00:58Cuba.
00:59We begin with the news.
01:08In Palestine, the Israeli occupation army continues with its indiscriminate attacks
01:21against the civilian population in Gaza, killing dozens during the last hours.
01:26Local media reported that several casualties were recorded after fire jets bombed a house
01:31in Jabalia camp, north of Gaza.
01:34Another attack targeted a shelter school in the same area, leaving eight civilians wounded.
01:38On Sunday night, another 10 people were killed after the bombing of a house in Beit Lahaya.
01:42The genocide perpetrated by Israel continues despite UN Security Council resolutions for
01:47an immediate ceasefire and International Court of Justice directives urging measures
01:51to prevent genocide and to relieve the appalling humanitarian situation in Gaza.
02:00And a news editor for the Al-Aqsa satellite channel, journalist Ibrahim Kanita, was killed
02:06after an Israeli quadcopter opened fire on him as he stood in the courtyard of the Baptist
02:11Hospital in Gaza City.
02:13The Palestinian government media office strongly condemned the attacks, assassinations and
02:18targeting of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation, holding it fully responsible
02:23for this heinous crime.
02:25According to the office, the number of journalist murders since the beginning of the genocide
02:28in the Gaza Strip has reached 191.
02:37And in Palestine, the Islamic resistance movement Hamas called for the creation of an international
02:41committee to investigate Israel for using banned weapons in Gaza.
02:46In a statement, the movement highlighted the horrifying testimonies of citizens and doctors
02:49in the north of the coastal enclave, which have been suffering from a massive operation
02:54by Israeli forces for almost two months, citing cases of attacks with munitions that caused
02:59the vaporization of bodies as said to be a sign of the use of prohibited weapons.
03:04In this regard, Hamas called on the international community, especially the United Nations,
03:08to form a working group to analyze the issue on the ground and address the widespread violations
03:13of international law committed against unarmed civilians.
03:21Also in Palestine, the Hamas resistance movement conducted military operations against Israeli
03:26targets in north of Gaza.
03:28In a statement, Hamas detailed that a tank was destroyed in which a group of Zionist
03:31soldiers were also killed.
03:33Likewise, during another operation north of the Gaza Strip, a fighter shot a rocket, an
03:37armored bulldozer operated by an Israeli soldier who died after being hit.
03:41Similarly, the Palestinian resistance movement reported that a combined ambush was successfully
03:45carried out against Israeli forces and military equipment at the Awad Tower intersection in
03:50the al-Jinna neighborhood in eastern Gaza.
03:59Meanwhile in Guatemala, different social movements and prominent figures urged the United Nations
04:03to comply with resolutions issued in favor of Palestine.
04:08Guatemalan groupings assured that those proposals of resolution to the conflict in Gaza have
04:12resulted in dead ends due to the fact that Israel continues causing death and suffering
04:18to the Palestinian people.
04:20One year after the declaration of solidarity with Palestine, Guatemala has been the scene
04:24of different activities where demonstrators called for an end to the genocide and denounced
04:29the direct participation of the United States as the main promoter of the siege in Gaza.
04:39In Syria, government forces backed by Russian troops carried out military operations against
04:43terrorist groups that have attacked the cities of Aleppo and Idlib for the past two days.
04:48The Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria reported that rocket and explosive attacks
04:51were launched against the faction's concentration centers.
04:55Arms depots and command posts eliminated 320 terrorists and destroyed 63 units of equipment.
05:01In this context, the troops were deployed to protect the lives of the Syrian people
05:05in addition to preparing a counter-offensive against the terrorists who infiltrated neighborhoods
05:09of the city of Aleppo.
05:15And the Syrian government cabinet held an extraordinary session to follow up on the
05:19situation in the Syrian city of Aleppo following attacks by terrorist groups.
05:23During the meeting, the head of the cabinet, Mohammad al-Jalali, instructed to offer all
05:27necessary support to the armed forces to ensure victory over terrorism and its sponsors.
05:33The operations began last Wednesday, led by armed groups with heavy equipment, drones
05:37and foreign forces attacked rural areas of the country.
05:41For its part, the Syrian military command declared that they continue to successfully
05:44confront the terrorist attacks while announcing a counter-offensive to free all the territories.
05:49In recent days, the Syrian army has eliminated 1,000 terrorists in Aleppo and Idlib.
05:58And in Guinea, dozens of people were killed in clashes between fans during a football
06:03match.
06:04Authorities informed that dissatisfaction with the referees' decisions favoring the
06:09home team prompted visitors to initiate violent actions and clashes with the police.
06:15As a result, the security teams fired tear gas in order to contain the angry mob and
06:20to disperse the crowd.
06:21In this context, so far, there have not been official reports on the number of casualties.
06:35Now we have a short break coming up, but first remember you can join us on Tiktok at TELUS

06:42We'll be right back, stay with us.
06:50Welcome back.
07:02The United States will present on Monday its priorities at the head of the United Nations
07:06Security Council.
07:07The body will share as of this month, despite its questionable vetoes on key issues such
07:12as the Gaza ceasefire.
07:14The U.S. will succeed the United Kingdom and share of the 15-member body, just two weeks
07:19after Washington again used its veto power exclusive to the five permanent members on
07:24another draft resolution calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
07:28The proposal introduced by Guyana on behalf of the non-permanent members of the body received
07:3314 votes in favor in the World Stop Peace body.
07:41The Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, has warned of a resurgence
07:45of chemical weapons that threaten progress towards ending their use on the planet.
07:49On the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance for all Victims of Chemical Weapons, the organization's
07:54chief urged the global community to speak with one voice, and reaffirmed its commitment
07:59to the elimination of chemical weapons.
08:01Guterres also urged to fulfill the promise of the Pact for the Future, which calls for
08:05a world free of chemical weapons.
08:07Likewise, the Chemical Weapons Convention prohibits the development, production, stockpiling
08:11and use of these menaces, and mandates the destruction of existing production facilities.
08:21Meanwhile South Africa assumed on Sunday the rotating presidency of the G20 under the theme
08:26Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability until November 31, 2025.
08:31South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said that during this term he will address inequality,
08:37which is a major threat to global economic growth.
08:40In addition, Ramaphosa expressed his intention to continue the trends set during the Brazilian
08:46administration, which focused on social issues, the reform of international institutions and
08:50climate crisis.
08:51The recent inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member of the G20 has raised
08:56expectations and is seen as an opportunity to defend the continent's interests in this
09:00international forum.
09:07The ruling Social Democratic Party would have won Romania's parliamentary elections
09:14with 26% of the votes, according to initial exit polls after voting stations closed.
09:20The Ultra-Nationalist Alliance for the Union of Romanians would have been in second place
09:24with up to 20% of the votes, and in third place the ruling National Liberal Party with
09:29around 15%.
09:30In this context, analysts had expected a shift to the right in Romania after the unexpected
09:35victory of Kalin Djorgescu in the presidential election a week ago.
09:39The recount should ratify the polls, which last week failed because they did not predict
09:43Djorgescu's victory.
09:51And the opposition Social Democratic Alliance has won the early legislative elections in
09:55Iceland and could form a government but would need the support of two other political forces,
10:00according to the final tally released by the electoral authority.
10:03With all the votes counted, the Social Democrats have obtained 20.8%, ahead of the Conservative
10:09Independence Party of the Prime Minister, Jarni Menediktsson, with 19.4%, and the Liberal
10:14Reform and the Opposition Force with 15.8%.
10:17The result represents the second electoral defeat of the Independence Party since Iceland
10:22separated from Denmark in 1944, a hard blow for the coalition that has governed for the
10:26last seven years.
10:33The Eastern Route Pipeline connecting China to Russia initiated its operation on Monday,
10:37so experts inform it will be able to transport up to 38 billion cubic meters of natural gas
10:43per year.
10:44The project has a single pipeline of over 5,000 kilometers.
10:48Consequently, it is considered the largest gas pipeline in the country as it extends
10:53from the Heihe town to Shanghai.
10:55Furthermore, the supply will meet the annual gas needs of over 450 million people in nine
11:00provinces and regions.
11:02In addition to its importance for China, the Chinese-Russian gas pipeline showcases the
11:07growing energy collaboration with Russia and the strengthening of exports to Asia after
11:12the Western sanctions due to the conflict in Ukraine.

11:54Welcome back.
11:55In Venezuela, the demonstration called by the far-right opposition leader, Maria Correa,
11:59Marina Machado, failed after raising a low attendance despite being strongly promoted
12:03by international media.
12:05In contrast with the mobilizations in defense of peace and in spite of the media strategies
12:09employed to promote participation in the social networks, the far-right did not manage to
12:13gather people at the points established for the rally.
12:17The low attendance demonstrates the lack of interest of their followers in the mobilization
12:21and, more specifically, in the Venezuelan far-right figures, who have failed to keep
12:25their promises, especially that of staying in the country.
12:34The Venezuelan international tourism fair closed its position in the country as an attractive
12:38international destination in promoting economic development.
12:43Venezuela is a country at peace.
12:50It is a safe country.
12:52And it is a country that, despite unilateral sanctions, is growing and advancing in prosperity.
13:00Venezuela is not stopped by anyone, and this must also be said, this is a recognition to
13:06our president.
13:08It is a recognition to the persistence and courage of a man who, despite immense difficulties,
13:15remains strong.
13:17He manages to face the sanctions and grows together with his people.
13:22So the Fitvin has achieved several objectives.
13:26There is a political objective, which is the recognition of the country, there is an economic
13:32objective, which is a country that grows in the midst of difficulties, and there is a
13:37human objective, which is the reunion with the people.
13:42We see here the representatives of the BRICS.
13:45We have Russia here, we have China, and we also have South Africa.
13:49The four of them represent, almost, half of the population of the world.
14:09Negotiations in South Korea and a treaty called the Global Plastic Pollution Crisis
14:13failed to reach an agreement and will continue next year.
14:16Negotiations in Busan, a poor city in South Korea, failed to produce the first legally
14:20binding treaty on plastic pollution by the end of 2024.
14:23Some plastic-producing countries and oil and gas nations failed to agree on production
14:27limits.
14:28For any proposal to be included in the treaty, all nations must agree.
14:32The world produces more than 400 million tons of new plastic every year, and without a policy
14:36change, it could increase as much as 70% by 2040.
14:51We have made significant progress in Busan in our collective effort to address plastic
14:57pollution, including its impact on the marine environment.
15:02However, our work is far from complete, and we must remain pragmatic as we continue collaborating
15:12toward our shared goal.
15:20We have tested the resilience of our planet to its limit.
15:24Now is the time for us to push our own limits and honor the trust placed in us.
15:32You have the INC Secretariat and my unwavering support to get this done.
15:39Torrential rains flooded homes, businesses, and roads on Sunday on the Greek island of
15:46Rhodes as storm Bora lashed the country for a second day.
15:50No injuries were reported in Rhodes, but firefighters received dozens of evacuation calls.
15:54Flooding swept cars and debris into the town of Lalisos, damaging people's homes and property.
16:00On the other hand, two men had died on the island of Lemnos as torrential rains and hurricane-force
16:05winds had caused flooding.
16:08According to the National Meteorological Service, damage has also been reported in Greece's
16:11second-largest city, Thessaloniki, on the mainland, as rain and storms are likely to
16:17affect most of the country in the coming hours.
16:21Meanwhile, in the United States, the first major snowfall of the season is blanketing
16:28cities in upstate New York and northwestern Pennsylvania as the hectic holiday travel
16:33and shoving weekend comes to an end.
16:35Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed a disaster emergency proclamation on Saturday
16:40and said that parts of Erie County in the northwest received nearly two feet of snow,
16:44with more expected to fall through Monday night.
16:47According to authorities, Pennsylvania State Police responded to nearly 200 incidents during
16:51the 24-hour period from 6 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
16:55The unnumbered cold and heavy snow could persist into next week and cause hazards in the Great
17:00Lakes Plains and Midwest regions.
17:08Also in the United States, President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, for two criminal
17:12charges related to weapons and tax convictions in Delaware and California.
17:17In a statement, President Joe Biden said he had signed a pardon for his son, Hunter, on
17:21two criminal charges, arguing that they were politically motivated.
17:24This decision contradicts the head of state's previous statements that he would not interfere
17:28in the U.S. Justice Department's sentencing and would not use the extraordinary powers
17:32of the president to benefit members of his family.
17:51More than 50,000 people gathered in Cape Town, South Africa, as the festive Lights Switch
17:54On event officially began on the first day of December.
17:58The theme for this year's event was Cape Town, People of Hope, and crowds gathered
18:02in the heart of the city for the annual festive Lights Switch On.
18:05With a history spanning over five decades, the city of Cape Town has been illuminating
18:09some of its streets with themed lights to usher in the festive season.
18:13The festive Lights Switch On has become a loved tradition, with thousands of families
18:17gathering to witness the magical transformation of the city's streets into a display of twinkling
18:21lights and colorful decorations.
18:30Ancuba marks the 68th anniversary of the event that changed the history of the country, the
18:34beginning of the guerrilla struggle for definitive liberation of imperialism, the landing of
18:3982 expeditionaries in the east of the country on the Grand Majat.
18:43On the early morning of December 2nd, 1956, young men led by Fidel Castro disembarked
18:49in Las Coloradas, Granma province.
18:51The expeditionaries left the port of Tuxpan in Mexico on November 25th aboard the Grand
18:56Majat with a capacity for 20 people.
18:58However, they managed to bring 82 expeditionaries.
19:01The date became the 4th of the Nascent Rebel Army, therefore it is also surveyed as the
19:06day of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.
