00:00It is a difficult time, a very complicated time for our sector, because we are facing
00:11the choices of some damaging European policies for our sector, and I am talking about the
00:17ETS and FIULEU directives, which are taxes that go against maritime transport and that
00:22clearly go against citizens and entrepreneurs who use this modality.
00:27It is also clear that, unfortunately, since these directives and these taxes have not yet
00:33been introduced for road and railway transport, the maritime modality is being taxed and
00:40damaged, which is the most virtuous one.
00:43So we ask for support, in this case from the government, through, for example, the contribution
00:48Simodal Shift, which is a virtuous contribution that can help to ease this moment and this
00:54high taxation that goes against our associates.
00:58Today, being an entrepreneur is really a courageous act and therefore we ask for more support
01:03in favor of what is a sector that is vital for our whole country.
01:08I am proposing what are the instances of an association that has shown to make a difference
01:13and that has never stopped its trucks, its ships, its trains, both during a pandemic,
01:19during two wars, an energy crisis and, above all, in such a complicated moment as the
01:25increase of interest rates.
