00:00The government kept the inflation rate of this November in the target range.

00:05At the same time, the inflation rate in the country also slowed down.

00:11The inflation rate of rice decreased for the month of November.

00:15This is on the other hand, the inflation rate of the past month was 2.5%,

00:20which is higher than 2.3% in October.

00:23According to the Philippine Statistics Authority,

00:25the inflation rate was only 5.1% in November compared to 9.6% in October.

00:31But because of the weight of the three other commodity groups,

00:37the meat, fish, and vegetables,

00:40the inflation rate increased in the month of November.

00:46MAPA explained that from January to November, the trend will decrease.

00:50The retail price, this is what we're getting,

00:53the unit price per kilo in the regular, well-mealed, and special,

00:59it's already decreasing.

01:01So, our expectation for December, for example,

01:06the inflation rate for rice will really decrease.

01:10For Vangie, she feels that the price of rice has decreased.

01:14Last month, it was more expensive.

01:16But now, it's already decreasing.

01:19Before, the coconut was P61, P62 per kilo.

01:26Now, it's P57, P58.

01:30It's a bit cheaper now.

01:32We only eat one kilo of rice.

01:34So, in one day, we eat two kilos of rice.

01:37And with the price decreasing,

01:39it's a big help for them.

01:42According to NEDA,

01:43the government's efforts,

01:45including productivity enhancing and trade measures,

01:48to maintain the inflation rate within the government's target of 2 to 4 percent.

01:53While the increase in the inflation rate in November

01:55is due to the increase in the price of food and non-alcoholic beverages,

01:59according to the PSA.

02:00Also related to the increase in the price of vegetables

02:03is the consecutive typhoons that hit the country,

02:05particularly in Cagayan Valley,

02:07where the typhoon affected.

02:09According to NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan,
