00:00In front of the impeachment case that was filed in the House of Representatives against Vice President Sara Duterte,

00:06some senators believe that the time to bring this case to the Senate is over.

00:11This impeachment trial is the work of Daniel Manastas.

00:17The impeachment proceedings of Vice President Sara Duterte may continue even if the session of Congress is on break.

00:24According to Senate President Francis Escudero, they are not yet making the initial preparations for the impeachment.

00:30But they say that the work assigned to them will continue even if the impeachment reaches the Senate.

00:37I think this is a job that we will face. It doesn't matter if we like it or not, if it is convenient for us or not.

00:45What's important is that this is a job assigned to us by the law.

00:49But the senator admitted that they may be affected by their position in the public opinion.

00:55It is possible for opinions to change depending on the evidence.

00:59So it's not because I like this before it started, I don't like this before it started, that's the end of it.

01:12and how strong the evidence is in favor or against an accuser.

01:16But if it really comes to the point where the second president is replaced, who will replace him?

01:23The line of succession will not be followed, but the president will nominate.

01:32So he will choose and after he chooses, it will be confirmed by majority vote of the House and Senate voting separately.

01:42If that happens, he will be replaced by the second president.

01:51If you ask former Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri about the impeachment.

01:56We would not want to see an impeachment proceedings in the Senate because obviously it's going to be very divisive.

02:03I hope there will be no chaos because we don't want chaos at this point in time.

02:07I want us to cease fire first.

02:10Senate President Pro Tempore Gingoy Estrada thinks that there will be a lack of time to discuss impeachment.

02:16We will adjourn on December 18. We will resume on January 13.

02:24I had a previous statement before that I am against any impeachment cases because it will divide our country furthermore.
