00:19said the lawyers representing Zaim Ikhwan Zahari and his wife,
00:23Ismanira Abdul Manaf, submitted the representation on November 19.
00:29He added the AGC rejected their application
00:32and suggested that the trial date set in the previous proceedings be maintained.
00:37On June 13, the couple pleaded not guilty to a joint charge of neglecting the child
00:42as the custodians of the six-year-old boy,
00:45in a manner likely to cause physical injury.
00:48The offence was allegedly committed around Damansara Damai
00:52from noon on December 5 last year until 9.55 pm the following day.
00:58The charge under Section 31, Subsection 1A of the Child Act 2001
01:04carries a fine of up to 50,000 ringgit or imprisonment for up to 20 years,
01:09or both, upon conviction.
