00:00live right here on the early line on sports grid. It is a
00:06Monday morning looking back on the Sunday slate from the
00:09injury perspective now with the injury analysis and insight
00:13from the pro football doc. Doctor David Chow as always
00:16Doctor Chow. Thank you for joining us here on this Monday.
00:20Hope you had a great football weekend. Oh, it was an
00:23interesting weekend fun weekend. Yes. Yes, it certainly
00:27was week 14 Sunday slate. Some of the injuries that we saw
00:31yesterday. Doctor Chow. We are reaching the point of this
00:33season just 4 weeks from eight after the Monday night
00:36football finale tonight where those injuries can be important
00:40for teams in contention. We start at the quarterback
00:44position for two teams that are probably not going to flirt
00:47with the playoffs, but still some important injuries. Doctor
00:51Chow late in the game yesterday at Met life Derek Carr of the
00:55Saints trying to take off dive for a first down goes up in the
01:00air as he is coming down on the turf. He lands on his left
01:05non-throwing hand. The Saints did say they fear it is a
01:08fracture to that left hand from video. What did you see? What
01:13do you think is the prognosis for car in the remainder of his
01:16season? Well, he had a head check as well, but the concern
01:20is his hand slash wrist and by video in game. We put out that
01:25there was worry for a scaphoid fracture at the base of the
01:29hand. That would mean surgery and casting. I get it. It's his
01:33non-throwing hand. I've gotten a lot of questions of so what?
01:36Why can't he play with it? Well, you gotta even if after
01:40surgery, you have to have a cast or something on and what
01:43about ball handling and handoffs and ball security? So
01:46it's not that simple. The Saints are still mathematically
01:50in it with their victory, but it's gonna look like it's not
01:53going to be Derek Carr. Doc a team that's mathematically out
01:58at this point here. The Oakland Raiders Aiden O'Connell left on
02:00a cart yesterday. The prognosis for the quarterbacks overall
02:04for the Raiders is bad and they're getting injured. Talk
02:06to us about Aiden O'Connell and what he has here. Well, yeah,
02:10when it rains, it pours right, they had two quarterbacks. You
02:13know they have none. Well, they added Desmond Ritter Gardner
02:17Minshew out with the broken collarbone and now the way
02:20Aiden O'Connell landed this worry for a patella injury and
02:25the likelihood he sees going to be out at this point, you
02:29know, maybe they're better off just playing for the first
02:31pick. I feel bad for my guy Norv Turner and Scott. They're
02:36trying to run that offense in the last few weeks here when
02:39they got out of there. They're down to another quarterback.
02:44Nine straight losses for the Las Vegas Raiders at this point
02:48of the season. Doctor Child, the story of the year for the
02:51San Francisco 49ers, the long litany of injuries at the
02:56running back spot entering week 14 Christian McCaffrey and
03:00Jordan Mason placed on IR. The 49ers snap a three-game slide
03:04yesterday and Isaac Correndo early was a huge factor in the
03:09offensive output to rushing scores, but we did see on the
03:12game broadcast Correndo walking to the locker room
03:16alongside medical staff and personnel. What exactly can we
03:20make Doctor Child of Isaac Correndo status for San
03:24Francisco? Well, at some point, right, you have to think maybe
03:29Kyle Shanahan and his run game scheme are really pretty good.
03:32It's kind of just add water and X man up and they're successful
03:35right and Correndo went out here. There wasn't clear videos
03:39in a pile of worry for a foot sprain is this frank sprain or
03:43what have you and that's not good for a running back that
03:46has to cut in a speedster there. So I'll be curious to
03:50see who the next next next man up is for San Francisco.
03:54Obviously, they played pretty well. They're getting some
03:56defensive health help. Josh is back. Drake Greenlaw said to be
04:01close. Nick Bosa is around the corner. So maybe they can write
04:06the ship for one last NFC West run. Doc the dreaded non
04:12contact injury, which we saw from Jonathan Brooks of the
04:15Carolina Panthers yesterday looks to be a knee injury. He
04:17came into the season banged up and it looks like he's going to
04:19leave the season banged up doc. You know this is one of the
04:24reasons we faded him throughout the you know fantasy football
04:29draft process downgrading him. We even took under four and a
04:33touchdowns on the season since there was no yardage props on
04:36Jonathan Brooks. It's just hard to recover from an ACL and jump
04:40a level of play. He just got back a couple weeks ago hasn't
04:43done a lot and now it's the same right knee. Now the video
04:47is not clear that it's an ACL retear. Let's hope that it's
04:51not, but it is the same right knee. So not good news for the
04:55Panthers and Jonathan Brooks. Quickly. Dr. Jallod stay in the
05:00NFC South go to the other side of the football. Tampa has been
05:03trying to bounce back from injuries and they have three
05:06game win streak now atop the NFC South standings, but one of
05:10their young defensive stars Antoine Winfield Jr. Did get a
05:14little bit banged up yesterday for the Bucks. Were you and the
05:18team at SIC score.com Sports Injury Central able to see
05:22anything there for the result and Antoine Winfield Jr. Well,
05:26that's going to be part of our Monday review. So go to the new
05:29revamp website SIC score.com to check it out. We're always
05:34go back and look at video here and now it's the first place
05:38Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South Doc. Let's take a look
05:44at the game tonight and also I am on six score.com right now.
05:47The game views tab Bengals and the Cowboys tonight looks like
05:50the Cincinnati Bengals slightly healthier than the Dallas
05:52Cowboys, but I want to talk to you about the Dallas Cowboys
05:54offensive line coming in tonight against Cincinnati. How
05:57does it look? Well, other than Zach Martin, they've gotten
06:00healthier. They've gotten some help there and it's the Cowboys
06:03secondary. That's the that's the question and how much does
06:07all the quote support for Mike McCarthy play into motivation
06:11and and this game. Hopefully, it'll be an exciting game. You
06:14know, Bengals are always involved in high scoring
06:16matchups and so we'll see. Yeah, that total at forty-nine and a
06:21half as we flip it over. Doctor Chow, you see the field view
06:23with Cincinnati on offense. How do the Bengals stand entering
06:27tonight at the start? Well, the Bengals have offensive line
06:31issues, you know, at the tackles and you know, Mika Parsons is
06:35back and so let's see what kind of havoc he can wreak there and
06:40we would expect a lot of quarterbacks dropping back
06:42quickly. Doctor Chow speaking of quarterbacks, Georgia's
06:45Carson Beck injured on Saturday in the SEC championship game.
06:49Do you expect him to be back for the college football playoff
06:52run for the dogs only because there's they seem to have a
06:561A1B situation. I'm not sure that he'll be back. Obviously,
06:59he finished the game, handed the ball off for the touchdown
07:02and overtime. I was at a friend's house and he literally
07:05flies the Texas flag and as a diehard Texas fan went to Texas
07:09and I was screaming at the TV, run Blitz. There's no way
07:13Carson Beck is going to throw the ball here and they didn't.
07:17They ran the ball and scored. You hear that Pete Kwiatkowski
07:22hired Doctor Chow on the defensive staff. Doctor Chow,
07:25thank you for all the early line nets.
