00:00Good morning to all of us. This is the latest weather update for Thursday, December 12, 2024.
00:08At the moment, we are still not being monitored by LPA or typhoons inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility,
00:15although we can still expect the rainy season in a large part of our country,
00:20as well as weather systems that are continuously affecting our rivers.
00:25First of all, the Northeast Monsoon or Hanging Amihan is still raging and affecting the northern Luzon
00:31and some parts of the Central Luzon area.
00:34It is followed by a cloudy sky with rain in some parts or in the eastern sections of the Northern Luzon today.
00:42Meanwhile, the cold and hot wind or shear line will continue to affect the eastern part of the Central and Southern Luzon area.
00:52Although for now, the rainfall of the shear line will not be strong,
00:57we can still expect the rainy season in some parts of the Southern Luzon today.
01:05And as we can see here in our latest satellite animation,
01:09the cloudy clouds are affecting a large part of Visayas and Mindanao.
01:14That is the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
01:18So, we expect that the rainy season will be cloudy in some parts of Visayas and Mindanao,
01:24as well as here in Palawan and possibly in Katamtaman until the heavy rains.
01:31In the next few days, we expect that the rainfall will gradually decrease
01:36due to the effects of weather systems that are currently affecting our country.
01:43Within the next two to three days,
01:44we still do not expect an LPA or typhoon to possibly affect any part of our region.
01:50Starting tomorrow, the rainfall will gradually decrease,
01:54especially in the Bicol region and also in the Visayas and Mindanao area.
02:00But when the weekend comes, the shear line will be eroded again
02:03and it will affect the Bicol region as well as the Quezon province.
02:08So, starting this Saturday, the shear line will be eroded again
02:12and it is possible that the rainy season will fall again in the Bicol region
02:16as well as in the Quezon area as well as in the provinces.
02:22So, the weather will be cloudy here in Luzon due to the effects of the northeast monsoon
02:28as well as the shear line.
02:29The eastern sections of the Luzon area will experience a cloudy sky with rain.
02:36Due to the effects of the monsoon in Cagayan Valley
02:39and also in some parts of the Cordillera Administrative Region,
02:42in Apayau, Ifugao and also in Mountain Province and Calinga,
02:47we will experience a cloudy sky with light to moderate effects of the monsoon.
02:54Meanwhile, in Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Provinces and Catanduanes,
02:59the weather will still be cloudy
03:02and there are still chances of severe rains due to the effects of the shear line.
03:10And in the northern part of Luzon, we expect generally fair weather
03:14but there are still chances of sudden or temporary rains.
03:19Isolated thunderstorms are still possible here in Metro Manila
03:23and also in Calabar Zone, some parts of Mimaropa and in the northern part of the Bicol region.
03:29Meanwhile, in the northern part of the Luzon,
03:32in Ilocos Region, Abra and Benguet,
03:36and in the central part of the Luzon,
03:38it is still possible for the weather to be clear
03:40and if there are only rains, there will be only light rains that do not last long.
03:47For the temperature forecast for the neighboring cities in the Luzon area,
03:51the maximum temperature will cool down,
03:53especially here in Tuguegarao, which can only reach 28 degrees Celsius.
03:58As for the outside temperature, it will cool down to 24 to 32 degrees Celsius,
04:03and 17 to 24 degrees for Baguio.
04:06Here in Metro Manila, the maximum temperature will reach 31 degrees Celsius,
04:1222 to 29 degrees Celsius for Tagaytay,
04:15and in Legazpi, the maximum temperature will reach 32 degrees Celsius.
04:23As for the weather forecast for the cold regions of our country,
04:27in Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao,
04:29like what we saw in our latest satellite animation earlier,
04:33the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ will have dark weather
04:38in a large part of Visayas and Mindanao, as well as here in Palawan.
04:43So the whole Mindanao area, as well as the southern portion of Palawan,
04:48as well as the southern portion of Visayas,
04:51we can expect that the sky will be cloudy for the whole day,
04:56and that will be accompanied by rain and snow.
05:00In the whole of Mindanao, as well as in the later provinces,
05:04here in Central Visayas, as well as in Negos Oriental,
05:08as well as in the southern portion of Palawan and Kalayaan Islands,
05:12we will experience rain and snow today.
05:18And for the rest of Visayas, here in Western Visayas,
05:21Negros Occidental, and in the summer provinces,
05:24we will experience hot weather, especially in the afternoon,
05:28and there are still chances of sudden or quick rains
05:34followed by localized thunderstorms.
05:37As for the temperature forecast in the neighboring cities,
05:40here in Palawan and Visayas,
05:42our maximum temperatures will reach 30 degrees Celsius
05:46for Kalayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa.
05:49Likewise, for the neighboring cities in Visayas, Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban,
05:54our maximum temperatures will reach 30 degrees Celsius.
05:58Meanwhile, for the neighboring cities here in Mindanao,
06:01for Zamboanga, our maximum temperatures will range from 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
06:0729 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature in Cagayan de Oro,
06:11and the maximum temperature in Davao today will reach 30 degrees Celsius.
06:18As for the condition of our ocean,
06:20we do not have a gale warning in any of the neighboring cities of our country.
06:24However, we still have to be careful about the plans to expand
06:27to the neighboring seas of Luzon and the eastern coast of our country,
06:32where our ocean can still reach 3.1 meters above sea level.
06:39So, double caution to our fishermen,
06:42as well as those who have small ocean vehicles that are planning to expand to the neighboring cities.
06:48Our sunrise this morning is 6.11 a.m. and will set later at 5.28 p.m.
