00:00Good morning to all. This is the latest weather update. Today is Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
00:08So let's start with our latest satellite image.
00:11Currently, we are still monitoring the previous typhoon Pipito
00:15which is outside of our Philippine area of responsibility
00:18and it has no direct effect on any part of our country.
00:21We will also notice that it is also continuing to weaken and it may be stable in the coming days.
00:28So our main focus is on the weather systems that are affecting different parts of our country.
00:36First of all, the Northeast Monsoon or Hanging Amihan
00:39which is currently affecting the extreme northern Luzon, particularly in the area of Batanes.
00:46And if we can see, in the vast majority of our country,
00:49the movement of clouds, we can see that it is due to the effect of the east release.
00:54So the wind that is coming from the Pacific Ocean or East Release is affecting the eastern part of our country.
01:03If we can also see here in our latest satellite image,
01:06we have a line of clouds that is affecting the extreme northern Luzon.
01:12So that is the movement of the Northeast Monsoon and the East Release.
01:16That is the shear line and it is possible that it will also affect the extreme northern Luzon today.
01:24So based on our latest satellite image, we can see that the area of Luzon and also Kabisayaan can be cleaned.
01:32Areas of the extreme northern Luzon, it is possible that it will experience rain due to the effect of the Northeast Monsoon
01:38as well as the shear line.
01:40And if we can see, we also have clusters of clouds here in the area of Palawan.
01:45Although we can see that these clouds are not lasting.
01:49So mostly, these are isolated thunderstorms.
01:51So for the rest or the large portions of the country, we expect that the weather will be clear.
01:58Except for the possibility of isolated thunderstorms
02:02or the occasional rainfall that is more common in the afternoon and at night.
02:08If we can also see, because the storm Pepito is no longer affecting any part of our country,
02:14besides this, because of the former storm Pepito,
02:17we are no longer monitoring any low-pressure area or storm inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
02:26It is expected that there will be a period of time here in the area of Luzon.
02:30As we saw earlier, the shear line and also the Northeast Monsoon
02:34can affect the extreme northern Luzon area.
02:37So there is an area of Batanes due to the effect of the Northeast Monsoon.
02:41We will experience rain and scattered rains that include thunderstorms and landslides in the area of Baboyan Islands.
02:50And if we saw in our latest satellite image earlier or satellite animation earlier,
02:55the area of or the vast majority of Luzon is clean.
03:00So the hot weather continues, especially in the afternoon
03:04or generally, we have fair weather conditions today in a large part of the Luzon area.
03:09The only difference is the possibility of sudden or quick rains
03:14followed by thunderstorms that are more often experienced in the afternoon or evening.
03:20Temperature forecast for the neighboring cities here in Luzon,
03:23inside, our temperature will range from 23 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:29For Baguio, 16 to 25 degrees Celsius, 24 to 32 for Tuguegarao.
03:35In Legazpi, maximum temperature will reach 32 degrees Celsius.
03:39For Metro Manila, the water temperature will range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:46And for Tagaytay, it will range from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:52For the weather forecast here in Palawan and Visayas,
03:56we saw earlier in our latest satellite image that there are clouds overlooking the southern portion of Palawan.
04:03So this morning, we expect that there will be more sudden or quick rains.
04:09Otherwise, we expect cloudy to cloudy skies today.
04:13So generally, the weather will still be clear
04:16except for the sudden rains followed by isolated thunderstorms.
04:22And for Visayas, we expect that the weather will also be clear today
04:28except for the isolated rains that are more common in the afternoon and evening.
04:35Temperature forecast for the neighboring cities here in Visayas,
04:38maximum temperatures in Cebu, Iloilo, and Tacloban
04:43may reach 32 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:47And for Puerto Princesa and Kalayaan Islands,
04:51the water temperature will range from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:56As for the weather forecast here in Mindanao,
04:59we will see that there will be more isolated or sudden rains,
05:06especially here in the eastern section of the Mindanao area.
05:10Otherwise, the weather will still be hot,
05:12so we expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies today.
05:16And there are only possibilities of isolated rains,
05:21such as in parts of our country that are more common in the afternoon and evening.
05:27Temperature forecast for the neighboring cities here in Mindanao,
05:31for Zamboanga, our temperature will range from 24 to 34 degrees Celsius.
05:36As for here in Cagayan de Oro, 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
05:40And for Metro Davao, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
05:44So let's monitor the thunderstorm advisory
05:47that is issued by our regional services division.
05:52As for the condition of our seas,
05:54we still have high waves or gale warnings
05:58in the coastal areas of the extreme northern zone,
06:01including Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
06:04So it is still dangerous to sail,
06:06especially for our countrymen who have small sea vehicles
06:10and the northern zone only has shallow coastal areas.
06:14It is possible that the sea will also be wavy.
06:16The waves may reach up to 3.1 meters.
06:20So just be careful of the wide plans in the coastal areas of the northern zone area.
06:26For the rest of the country,
06:27slight to moderate or moderate to moderate waves is what we will experience today.
06:34For the next three days,
06:36we expect at the very least, for now,
06:39we will not monitor other low-pressure areas or storms
06:42outside of our Philippine Air Responsibility,
06:45aside from the previous typhoon Pepito.
06:48So we expect that there will be no widespread rains
06:53in any part of our country.
06:55So for this coming Thursday,
06:57the effect of the shear line will still continue,
07:00just like the Northeast monsoon in the extreme northern zone.
07:03And for the rest of the country,
07:05mostly isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will still be experienced.
07:09So these are the sudden and occasional rain showers
07:12that we will experience in the afternoon and at night.
07:14When Friday arrives,
07:16the Intertropical Convergence Zone in the southern portion of Mindanao
07:20may be affected.
07:22It is possible that there will be rains in the Davao region by this time.
07:27And when Saturday arrives,
07:29there may also be rains in Zamboanga Peninsula,
07:33as well as in the Palawan area.
07:35So the Intertropical Convergence Zone,
07:37it is possible that there will be rains in the southern portion of our country
07:41in the coming weekend.
07:43Meanwhile, if we see these cumulonimbus clouds,
07:46it is possible that by Saturday,
07:48it will gradually go down,
07:50and it is possible that there will be heavy rains
07:53in the area of Cagayan on the coming Saturday.
07:57And for the rest of the country,
07:59generally fair weather conditions will still continue,
08:02except for the possibility of occasional or sudden rain showers
08:06due to isolated thunderstorms.
08:09Our sunrise is at 5.59 a.m.
08:12and sunset will be at 5.24 p.m.
