00:00All right, I'm looking for somebody to tell me what happened last night with the Warriors.
00:0690-84 with about two minutes left, they end up losing 91-90.
00:11I texted Evan after the game.
00:12I said, what just happened?
00:13He said, that's a great question.
00:16Good, what happened last night?
00:18You didn't text him.
00:20Where was I?
00:21You text him personal text?
00:23Yeah.
00:24Yeah.
00:25Sometimes when I text the thread and I try to be conscientious and straightforward.
00:29What happened to Spadoni and Hive?
00:31Then I get a response that is inappropriate and I try to want to actually have a conversation.
00:38We're in a good mood today.
00:39What's up, partner?
00:40You're looking great.
00:41You did your thing okay.
00:42TVU with Sal.
00:43I would have left the glasses off, but Stiney, I'm telling you, I just feel like they choked.
00:48They choked that game off, man.
00:51And I wanted them to play in Las Vegas, but the bottom line is when you got three possessions
00:57and you got two Hall of Famers on the court and you get two 24 second shot clock violations,
01:02something's wrong.
01:04And we've watched the Cadillac run out of gas in too many games this year.
01:08And I know and I'm trying to be cool, Stiney.
01:11There was no Wiggins.
01:12There was no Moody.
01:14But damn it.
01:15I just I'm sick.
01:16There's no way the Rockets should have won that game.
01:19And I'll leave you with this.
01:22Jonathan Kaminga this.
01:23Jonathan Kaminga that.
01:26Everything's Jonathan Kaminga.
01:28Kerr, how about you give him the keys and you don't need Draymond to Vinny testify to him
01:35and throw him a pass cut to the basket.
01:38Let's take the training wheels off.
01:40If you're going to empower Jonathan Kaminga, we want to see it.
01:43Give him the ball at the top of the key.
01:45Maybe he turns it over.
01:46He drew.
01:48Whatever.
01:49I didn't want.
01:50I didn't like that play where Draymond threw it over his head or whatever.
01:53Like, come on, man.
01:55They give him the ball top of the key.
01:57I saw and you cook or make a play.
02:00So then Steph shoots the ball when you could have milked the clock in the Rockets.
02:06Who again, IQ wise, they got all the talent in world study.
02:09I'm not sold.
02:10They didn't even look like they knew they needed to fail.
02:13And Curry went for the night.
02:15Chef, if you're listening, you went for the night night.
02:18Because you had no business not bleeding that clock.
02:21Well, that's all.
02:23Let's take a few things.
02:25Hey, I'm sorry, man.
02:27One is they tried to get Kaminga the ball in the lane
02:31and Draymond threw a terrible pass.
02:33And to my way of thinking, the reason you don't give the ball to Kaminga
02:38at the top of the key in that situation
02:40is because the Rockets are too good defensively
02:43and he's not good enough with the ball.
02:45Damn.
02:46I would not.
02:47They were trying to get him that little midrange in the key
02:50where he could just raise up and go over somebody.
02:52But the Warriors got into trouble last night when they dribbled too much
02:56because that's what the Rockets love.
02:58They forced what?
03:0022.
03:01Yeah.
03:02I think six of them, and I'm not saying they don't hurt,
03:05but they had six shot clock violations, 15 turnovers,
03:09which puts them over 20.
03:11Just right there, Scottie, what does that signal to you?
03:14Did you just say Wiggins wasn't there
03:16because I do believe that number wouldn't be that high?
03:19Or to keep it real, Goo and Stiney,
03:21this is why they're linked to another bona fide score,
03:26regardless of his age.
03:28You don't get shots off?
03:30Come on, man.
03:31To me, what I watched in the first half was an athleticism discrepancy.
03:38The Rockets gave the Warriors a lot of problems with their athleticism
03:43and with how aggressive they play on defense.
03:46And if the refs are going to let them play, which they did,
03:50then that's going to favor the Houston Rockets
03:52because they were the more aggressive team,
03:54and that's the way they play.
03:56That's the way they have to play.
03:58I mean, you know what's funny is I watched the Houston game last time,
04:02and I thought that team's not very well coached at all.
04:05Right. Barkley was having fun with them last night.
04:07But I watched them last night, and I thought, you know what,
04:10I think Doka knows what he's doing.
04:12That's a really, really bad offensive team.
04:16Okay.
04:17They're really bad offensively.
04:19So the only thing, what I think he's doing is saying,
04:23you've got to play defense, and if you play defense,
04:26I'm going to give you more leeway on offense
04:28because I know we're not a great offensive team.
04:31And they got into the Warriors,
04:34and they made the Warriors uncomfortable for a lot of that game.
04:37And it was only until the Warriors kind of adjusted to that quickness,
04:41that length, and that athleticism that they started controlling that game.
04:46But then at the very end, you know, the last quarter,
04:49I felt like they regressed a little bit with how they took care of the ball
04:54and how responsible they were with the ball.
04:59And I just saw some video of Pods,
05:02who made a three that I thought was sending the team to Vegas,
05:06along with Lindy Waters III.
05:09I thought he made a three.
05:12And then who else?
05:13Kaminga made a corner three, and I'm thinking this thing is over.
05:16But to have that IQ between Draymond, Steph, and Kerr,
05:21not to be able to get a shot off, Stony, that doesn't sit well with me.
05:26And now we've seen video, and I don't make this up,
05:30of it looks like Buddy, I don't know if you saw this, Stony,
05:32Buddy Hilden, Pods getting into it, going to the sidelines, over.
05:36I don't know what, but that's never good.
05:41So I didn't expect to see that from this Warrior team,
05:45but damn, they gave that one.
05:47Hey, Houston took it, Green made the free throws,
05:50and Coach Kerr's about to get fined probably by midday here because he went in.
05:55But Stony, I will say this, and I'm not one of those softies,
05:58you can't let it be prison ball the way that you did all night
06:03and then call a foul on Kaminga there.
06:06When they showed the replay, it looked worse than it did live
06:12when they were just scrambling for the ball.
06:15And all those things are true, and maybe Kerr was mad about the foul,
06:20but the way I always look at basketball is this way.
06:24They had chances to win the game, and one Hall of Famer made a terrible pass
06:30and turned the ball over, and then the other Hall of Famer went way too early.
06:35He went way too early.
06:37He shot that ball with 11 seconds to go, and that's a situation where
06:41the difference in the shot clock and the game clock was three seconds,
06:45and if you can pull it off and use the shot clock as a buzzer beater,
06:50then you get a loose ball scramble like they ended up getting,
06:53and the game's over.
06:55Steph absolutely went too early there, but that might be a function of
07:00he thought at that time with that amount of clock,
07:03that's the best shot he was going to get.
07:06Now, if you allow me, I know we're up against it, but you just hit me, man.
07:11You really did.
07:12If the Warriors are trying to find out about Jonathan Kaminga
07:16and what he's going to be, let's just say they think like your thought
07:21you shared with this, well, we ran Draymond, made him part of the play
07:25to get him the ball because we didn't think.
07:27Well, then you already know your answer about what you're working with
07:31in regard to Kaminga, Stiney, because if that is really what was on their mind
07:37and they kind of wanted to eliminate that out of the scenario,
07:40which I wouldn't have, this is what we got to see.
07:44I would have empowered him to be able to trust them,
07:47but if you're telling me that's what they might be thinking,
07:50then you already have your answer on Kaminga.
07:53I mean, some guys are better going to the basket,
07:56some guys are better posting up.
07:58It looked like he was trying to flash to the middle, catch,
08:02and then take that little turnaround that he's automatic with.
08:05And I would not have put the ball in his hands at the top of the key
08:09against that particular team in this particular game
08:13because he wasn't going to draw a foul in that situation.
08:18They were going to converge on him, and then it was going to be a matter of
08:21if he was able to handle the ball well enough and make a play
08:24for somebody else or himself, and I'd rather put him in another position,
08:28which is catch, fade, with that little shot in the middle.
08:32But Draymond just threw a terrible pass, I thought,
08:35and it wasn't the only terrible pass he threw last night.
08:38He threw a bunch early, and that got him off to a bad start.
08:41The next thing you know, they got beat 91-90 to a team
08:45that was just every bit as scrappy as the Warriors were, and maybe more so.
08:50But not as smart, though, Stunt.
08:52Well, how can I say that when they won?
08:54But I'll say this, Evan is my witness.
08:56Last night, for the people that think the refs took this game from the Warriors,
09:00get a stopwatch out or count how long Pudzimski had the ball.
09:04It was seven seconds, and they didn't call it.
09:07They allowed him to throw it in, but, Stunty, that there,
09:11how can the offense be so dysfunctional at the most optimist, you know,
09:16the biggest time of the game?
09:19Because they don't have a lot of great offensive players
09:22that are polished offensively at this point.
09:268-8-8, 9-5-7, 9-5-7-0 is the number.
09:30Let me tell you what's going down today.
