00:00Hello there, a very good afternoon to you. Welcome to your latest weather update from
00:05the Met Office. Quite a mild theme to the weather over the coming few days, started
00:09off by this warm front that slipped its way south eastwards across the UK this morning
00:14and behind that it's introduced much milder conditions across all areas of the country.
00:19You'll also notice on this pressure chart there's quite a lot of ice bars on there,
00:22very tightly spaced together. Those are producing some quite strong gusts of wind today, particularly
00:27to the east of higher ground sites, east of the Pennines, parts of the A1M, could have
00:31some very difficult travelling conditions today. So there is a wind warning in force
00:35here. Other gales possible around hills and coasts of Scotland as well. Most of us managing
00:41to stay dry but still very cloudy. That cloud could produce the odd spot of drizzle in places
00:46in the west. The most persistent rainfall will be across western parts of Scotland.
00:50But underneath that cloud it is certainly going to be very mild for the time of year.
00:55Many of us seeing temperatures around 11 to 13 degrees Celsius. This rain across parts
01:00of western Scotland is going to become very persistent and heavy at times over the next
01:0424 to 48 hours. Parts of the Highlands will widely see half a month's worth of rain developing
01:11during this period. Locally up to 150 millimetres of rain possible in places. This certainly
01:17has the potential to cause some disruption at times and so there is a yellow rain warning
01:21that comes into force from this evening and runs all the way until midday on Tuesday with
01:26that disruption really possible over the forthcoming days. So do take care. Some quite squally
01:31winds on this system as it pushes across parts of Cape Ness and Sutherland. Generally again
01:36staying dry further towards the south. Again the odd spot of drizzle just to contend with
01:40in there as well and still quite gusty around at times. Those winds coming in from a south
01:44westerly direction feeding in that mild air still. So many of us will be around 9 to 11
01:50degrees Celsius. Very similar temperatures to what we're even seeing during the daytime.
01:55As we head throughout the rest of Monday we'll hopefully start to see that cloud breaking
01:59up a little bit more for parts of Wales, England and Northern Ireland. So the sunshine and
02:02the brightness hopefully managing to make its way through a touch more. But for western
02:07Scotland that rain band really is going to be very persistent right throughout the day.
02:11Those rainfall totals really totting up once again. So again do take care here. Eastern
02:15Scotland managing to stay a little bit drier in places and also particularly mild here
02:19with that fern effect allowing temperatures to climb close towards 12, 13 degrees Celsius.
02:24And again many of us still in double digit figures as well. A similar theme to end Monday
02:30that evening picture we'll hopefully see a few clearer spells for Northern Ireland, England
02:35and Wales. The rain band though still very much in play across the far north of Scotland.
02:40We'll see another area of low pressure move its way in across parts of Tuesday and Wednesday
02:43still bringing that rather unsettled theme. Also mild through that middle part of the
02:50week but from Thursday onwards our temperatures look like they will be dipping down quite
02:54noticeably so something chillier on the way. We'll have plenty more updates on all of that
02:58though so do subscribe to the YouTube channel where you'll provide all of that and we'll
03:02see you again here very soon. Bye bye.
