00:00PhilHealth hopes that President Bongbong Marcos will review their Zero Subsidy in 2025.

00:07In the Senate, PhilHealth is being investigated because of the unfair implementation of the duty based on the Universal Health Care Law.

00:14Maki Polido was there.

00:19Under the Universal Health Care Law, all Filipinos should be covered by Social Health Insurance.

00:25PhilHealth's role is to ensure that all its members have equal access to health care services,

00:31including medicines, laboratory tests, and others.

00:34There are a lot of things that need to be recorded.

00:37Just buy your own medicine.

00:38We, the seniors, cannot afford that expensive medicine. We should be free.

00:43Not everyone is using it.

00:46Not everyone in the hospital has the privilege that we get.

00:50Senator JV Ejercito is the principal sponsor and there is a provision in this law

00:54that will depend on PhilHealth's consideration to fulfill its duty.

00:58That's why he will call for an oversight committee hearing to find out the shortcomings of the implementation.

01:03There are still a lot of people who are filing complaints to the politicians.

01:08Because PhilHealth's response is too small, which is not the UAC intended.

01:16In the Senate's version of the National Budget for 2025,

01:20the 74 billion pesos government subsidy was removed from PhilHealth

01:24because it has a 600 billion peso reserve fund that the people have not yet benefited from.

01:29But PhilHealth explained yesterday that the law requires them to have a reserve fund.

01:46PhilHealth is still positive that the president will review the Zero Subsidy.

01:50But he did not give it.

01:54Our fund for now, like the surplus and investment funds,

02:01that's where we will get our fund for 2025.
