हर वर्ष 16 दिसंबर को भारत में विजय दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। यह दिन भारतीय सेना की अप्रतिम वीरता, साहस और सैन्य ताकत का प्रतीक है, जब 1971 में भारत ने पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ ऐतिहासिक विजय प्राप्त की थी। इस विजय ने न केवल बांग्लादेश को एक स्वतंत्र राष्ट्र के रूप में जन्म दिया, बल्कि दुनिया के सामने भारतीय सेना के पराक्रम की मिसाल भी कायम की। 1971 के भारत-पाक युद्ध में हमारे बहादुर सैनिकों ने देश की रक्षा के लिए असाधारण बलिदान दिया। उनकी कुर्बानी और त्याग को देश आज भी सम्मान और कृतज्ञता के साथ याद करता है।

00:44War started between India and Pakistan on 3rd December, 1971.
00:48On 4th December, 1971, India launched Operation Trident.
00:52This war continued for 13 days and on 16th December, 1971,
00:57Pakistan's army surrendered in Dhaka in front of Indian Army's brutal war policies.
01:04In this war, about 93,000 soldiers surrendered to Pakistan's Chief General A. A. Niazi Khan,
01:12which is considered to be the biggest surrender in history.
01:16To win this war, Indian Army and Bangladeshi Liberation Army sacrificed their lives.
01:23Actually, after partition, West Pakistan, East Pakistan, which is now known as Bangladesh,
01:31had crossed all the limits of abuse, torture, rape, mass murder and violation of human rights.
01:40For 24 years, Bangladesh endured the atrocities of Pakistan and then on 26th March, 1971,
01:47for the first time, people of East Pakistan demanded independence and called for help from India.
01:55Seeing these atrocities, India extended a helping hand towards Bangladesh for humanity
02:02and supported Bangladesh's freedom struggle, which later turned into a war against Pakistan.
02:09This war lasted for 13 days, in which about 4,000 Jambaz soldiers of India were martyred.
02:16And then on 16th December, 1971, a new day dawned when Pakistan's Chief General A. A. Niazi Khan
02:25signed the papers of surrender and handed over his revolver to General Arora.
02:31Not only did Pakistan's cruelty end with this victory, but India also gave shelter to lakhs of refugees
02:38who had escaped the atrocities of Pakistan's army.
02:42This victory of war gave birth to a new nation, Bangladesh.
02:47This year also, on the day of victory, the dignitaries of the country commemorated the brave soldiers and their sacrifice
02:53and offered them Shraddhanjali and flowers.
