The Rotary Club of Shrewsbury along with Santa hand out books for children at The Grange Primary School, Shrewsbury.

00:00OK, David, so you're the president of the Rotary Club of Shrewsbury.

00:05I am indeed.

00:06Just explain what's going on today, where we are.

00:08Every year we come to this school.

00:11They've got a little group of children they call the Grangers,

00:15and there's a fantastic esprit de corps here.

00:19There's some children here from some very difficult backgrounds,

00:23but the quality of leadership at the school is so fantastic

00:26that we view our support for this particular establishment as a matter of annual priority.

00:32Out of all the things we do as a Rotary Club during the year,

00:36we give various grants to a number of organisations,

00:40but this really is the highlight of our year.

00:43Every year we bring Santa, and he distributes free books to all the children.

00:50This year's especially different because we've been building a sleigh for Santa all year,

00:56and this is its first outing in this school.

00:59So it's a pretty special day for us.

01:01Well, the children seem to be enjoying it anyway.

01:04Their enthusiasm keeps us going, keeps us motivated.
