00:00The A330neo is a state-of-the-art aircraft designed with efficiency and sustainability
00:10at its core. It consumes 11% less fuel and emits significantly fewer carbon emissions
00:19compared to its predecessor, which has served Malaysia Airlines since 2011. These advancements
00:26are critical in an era where environmental sustainability is no longer optional but essential.
00:34This launch marks MAG as the 20th global operator of the A330neo with plans to introduce a total
00:41of 20 of this aircraft into its fleet by 2028. Malaysia is now the largest supplier of components
00:48to Airbus in Southeast Asia, with parts made here, including engine fan casings, avionics
00:55and metallic wing components. MAG's efforts align closely with the Malaysian Aviation
01:00Decarbonisation Blueprint, a framework guiding our industry towards greener skies, and sustainability
01:06is no longer a secondary concern. It is the future of aviation. By adopting sustainable
01:12aviation fuel and introducing fuel-efficient aircraft like the A330neo, MAG is playing
01:20a pivotal role in reducing our carbon footprint and building a sustainable ecosystem for future
01:27generations. The Government remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting this vision.
01:33In fact, today is a very important milestone and the start of a journey of modernisation
01:39for MAG. And I hope that this journey will start off with very strong determination and
01:46with this additional fleet. To MAG, the hope and the expectation of the Government, and
01:54particularly the Ministry of Transport, to Captain Izam and your entire team, in MAG
02:01is the first that we have to look at major improvement and major addition to our network.
02:11We want to fly to more destinations throughout the world. Right now, I know we are out of
02:20Europe entirely. London is not considered part of Europe. So we hope that very soon
02:27we can fly back to Europe. I think that's the plan next year. I hope that it can be
02:32realised very soon. And this is part of the larger vision of the country. We want to have
02:38better connectivity. We want to improve our presence in the world. We want to improve
02:45our tourism sector. We want to get more tourists around the world to Malaysia and to do business
02:52with the rest of the world. And of course, it is also important for KLIA to become a
02:57global aviation hub. And Malaysia Airlines Group, MAG, plays an important role, and in
03:04fact, the most important role, to make KLIA as the most important hub for our country.
