00:15ASEC Dumlao, Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas to all of you.
00:21Merry Christmas, USEC March and ASEC Wang.
00:24Merry Christmas to all of you and to all those who are watching your program.
00:29ASEC, how are our countrymen who were evacuated due to the eruption of Volcano Canlaon?
00:36How many? And how many individuals in total are currently in evacuation shelters?
00:43Well, USEC March, according to our latest report,
00:48there are more than 4,400 families or more than 14,200 people.
00:55The government is monitoring our temporary evacuation centers in Region 6 and 7.
01:03Actually, we have 32 evacuation centers that are being monitored.
01:07There are evacuation centers in Bago City, La Carlota City, La Castellana,
01:11and also in San Carlos City in Negros Occidental.
01:15There are also evacuation centers in Canlaon City in Negros Oriental.
01:21These are the people we are helping by providing family food packs and non-food items.
01:28But aside from the displaced population inside evacuation centers,
01:33there are also internally displaced persons who are temporarily staying in their families' homes.
01:44There are more than 2,100 families or more than 7,000 people.
01:51ASEC Aireen, how is the distribution and supply of non-food and food items for the evacuees?
01:57Are these enough?
02:00Yes, ASEC, our stockpiles are enough in Region 6 and Region 7.
02:06In fact, the total cost of humanitarian assistance provided by the DSWD as of 6 a.m. today is more than P52 million.
02:17That is made up of family food packs and non-food items.
02:21Our non-food items are made up of family kits, family tents, hygiene kits, laminated sacks,
02:29modular tents, sleeping kits, and other non-food items.
02:35ASEC, what is the significance of the assistance or aid you are distributing to the evacuees in Volcano Canloon?
02:46Yes, ASEC, as of 6 a.m. today, we have provided more than P52 million worth of humanitarian assistance.
02:56And as I mentioned, it is made up of food and non-food items.
03:01In addition, we have provided financial assistance under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis situation for those affected.
03:12We continue to assist local government units as part of our augmentation support
03:19to provide the needs of our countrymen affected by the eruption of Mount Canloon.
03:28ASEC, this Christmas Eve, is there a special project or program for the evacuees?
03:39Actually, our camp managers, our personnel, our colleagues in Region 6 and Region 7,
03:47who are in charge of the activities as we are in charge of camp coordination and camp management,
03:54aside from the conduct of psychosocial activities for the children in evacuation centers and vulnerable sectors,
04:03there are also other activities for our countrymen, especially those affected by the eruption of Mount Canloon,
04:14so they can feel the Christmas spirit even if they are in evacuation centers.
04:22Here in the established child-friendly spaces, we are conducting storytelling activities,
04:28not only to alleviate the trauma of the children because of what they have experienced with the eruption of Mount Canloon,
04:37but also to make them feel that Christmas is still going on despite the situation that they are in.
04:46We are making them feel the Christmas spirit.
04:53There are also gift-giving activities being conducted by local government units and private partners
04:59who are assisting the department in conducting the activities that you mentioned.
05:06Okay, Asek, please send a message to our countrymen who are focused on this Christmas.
05:13Of course, Yusef Marge and Asek Nguyen, we are wishing you a Merry Christmas.
05:19And for our countrymen, especially those who are focused on your program,
05:24we would like to mention that the Department of Social Welfare and Development,
05:28led by our Secretary-General, Rex Gatchalian,
05:31has extended our warmest greetings to all Filipino families across the country.
05:39For us, Christmas is a time to give and share love,
05:46to show hope and unity,
05:49and values that strengthen our ties as Filipino families.
05:58So with these values that bring us closer together as a nation,
06:02even in the times of difficult circumstances or challenges,
06:07we should always show our unity and love.
06:15We hope that our countrymen will continue to strive for the well-being of the vision of the DSWD.
06:24We believe that the needs of our countrymen,
06:29especially the vulnerable sectors and the marginalized,
06:32will be addressed.
06:35We always ask that we celebrate and remember the reasons why we have this celebration.
06:49So hopefully, this Christmas season will bring peace, happiness,
06:55and of course prosperity to everyone, to all Filipino families,
07:00and to the whole nation.
07:02So with that, Merry Christmas again from the DSWD.
07:07Merry Christmas to you too, Irene.
