00:10Want to talk about college football the weekend that was.
00:12Some big takeaways from round one of the college football playoff.
00:16I know there were a lot of blowouts, but me personally, I love the atmosphere.
00:22It was electric having FBS playoff games on campus.
00:26You know, when you've done this as long as we have covering sports, you don't get many firsts any longer.
00:32And that was a first, and I thought all of those scenes were epic, so give me more of that in the future.
00:37Now, in terms of the games themselves, a couple of big takeaways from the matchups.
00:42First off, Texas found an offense against Clemson.
00:45That to me was a seminal moment for the Longhorns.
00:48If you look at the end of the regular season, three of the last four games failed to score more than 20 points.
00:55But that offense looked great, so Texas is poised for a deep run.
00:59And Ohio State, I mean, Ohio State found its mojo after the season-ending loss against Michigan.
01:06For me, Scott, it all comes down to one thing.
01:08When Will Howard is in rhythm, that offense is unstoppable.
01:13He was able to unlock all of those skilled position players, so Ohio State ready for a deep run as well.
01:21Big picture of the eight remaining teams.
01:23I think six have a legitimate shot at a national championship, and that is very exciting.
01:27I think all of these teams are pretty evenly balanced right now heading into the quarterfinals.
01:33Personal vent for me, SEC Twitter, can you pipe down a little bit?
01:38We heard about Indiana losing big Friday night, and SMU against Penn State,
01:45and all of SEC Twitter was talking about where's Alabama, where's South Carolina.
01:49Here's a couple of ideas.
01:50First off, win your regular season games.
01:53Alabama, don't lose to Oklahoma by three touchdowns.
01:56And number two, it was crickets at night when Tennessee was getting hammered by Ohio State.
02:01So Lane Kiffin and his cronies, please pipe down moving forward and win your regular season games.
02:07Now moving on to the quarterfinals, the games that I like, where my money is going to go, Scott.
02:12First off, Texas really impressed me with their offensive line play.
02:16I think they bully Arizona State.
02:18So I'm going to lay the 13.5 to ASU.
02:21Love what the Sun Devils have done under Kenny Dillingham.
02:24I don't think they match up well against the Longhorns, so I think UT rolls.
02:29And number two, I like Georgia laying the 2.5.
02:33I know they have Gunner Stockton under center.
02:36ND looked great against Indiana.
02:38The Irish do not have enough perimeter playmakers against the Georgia defense,
02:43especially when Kirby Smart has this much time to prepare.
02:47So I like Georgia laying the 2.5.
02:49I especially like the ND team total under 21.5.
02:54I think Notre Dame's going to struggle to score.
02:57So let me give you my semifinal matchups.
02:59I've got Penn State against Georgia, and I've got Texas against Oregon.
03:05Oregon, Ohio State, an absolute toss-up.
03:08I'll give the edge to Dylan Gabriel in that QB matchup.
