00:00I got an idea. Let's hook up with our boy Rich Cermonello.
00:09Hey, Scotty, let's do a wrap up of college football week 14 last weekend in the regular
00:16season. There's a tear in my eye, but a lot of excitement as we head into conference championship
00:21weekend and then ultimately the playoffs and the bowl games. Let's start with last week.
00:26The biggest storyline by far, the absolute abomination from Ohio State. I mean, very
00:32disappointing against Michigan. That was over a thousand days of frustration. You thought
00:37that Ohio State could come through against a five loss Michigan team. Didn't happen.
00:43Tons of pressure on Ryan Day. Now two losses this season. It's a roster, Scott, that reportedly
00:49paid $20 million for these Buckeye players. They were built to run the table and win a
00:55national championship. Ryan Day now one and four against Michigan, 47 and one against
01:02the rest of the Big Ten throughout his career. So off this weekend and then on to the playoffs.
01:08Now quarterback position. I like Will Howard. Great kid. Had a chance to spend some time
01:13with him. He's a Pennsylvania kid. Big heart. I'm not sure if he was the right choice in
01:19the portal for Ohio State. It's interesting to me. He has his worst game as a Buckeye
01:24on Saturday. And then juxtaposed with that is Syracuse quarterback and Buckeye cast off
01:31Kyle McCord for Syracuse. He's busy carving up the Miami defense in a big upset. Look
01:37at Kyle McCord's numbers this year. Scott leads the nation in passing, leads the nation
01:43in big time throws. First quarterback ever from Syracuse to throw for more than four
01:48thousand yards. Better deep ball passer. I think he would've been a better fit for the
01:52Ohio State offense. But now it's Will Howard. And I think there's legitimate questions whether
01:57or not Will Howard can bring the Buckeyes a national championship. Now that Miami loss.
02:03Interestingly enough, they're out of the ACC title game, as you know, but may have also
02:08opened the door for a three loss SEC team to grab an at large bid. I'm thinking Alabama.
02:14I know that's going to drive people crazy. But Miami scheduled no really big wins. Bama
02:20has them. Miami losses to Georgia Tech and Syracuse unranked at the time over the last
02:25couple of weeks. So don't be shocked if we're talking playoff next week. If on the back
02:30end, there's an at large Alabama. Now, this weekend, great schedule. I love conference
02:35championship weekend. We can really focus on just nine games, nine pivotal matchups.
02:41Here are some thoughts. First off, Big Ten, Penn State. Here's your chance, James Franklin.
02:46I mean, you got a shot to beat Oregon, hand them their first loss and possibly be the
02:51number one overall seed. My favorite games of the weekend, Big 12. You did not disappoint
02:56me this year. Arizona State, Iowa State. I think there'll be a ton of intensity game.
03:01My best bet of the weekend, though, Scott, is is Clemson. I've been down on SMU all year
03:06and they've made me look foolish. But Clemson has been here before. SMU has not. If you're
03:12going to give me in the ACC title game Clemson as a dog, I'm taking those points, which is
03:17exactly what I did earlier this week.
