00:00Ohio State beat Indiana. Our apologies to Scotty, who of course wanted his Hoosiers to win very badly. 38-15 was the final. Here's Cignetti after the game. Of course, what is he going to say when they ask him, do you think your team still deserves to be in the college football playoff? What do you think he said, Joe? Here we go.
00:24Is that a serious question?
00:26I'm not even going to answer that one.
00:28It's a serious question. I'm not even going to answer it.
00:32Well, you want to know what, Joe?
00:34He's still laughing. What is he? He's laughing.
00:37I don't know if it's that obvious. I think I personally think they're still going to be in.
00:45I think it helps some of the other carnage that happened on Saturday is going to help them.
00:50But you know, over the next two weeks, when this thing finally gets, we get through the conference championship games, and it gets finalized, you know, they're going to beat Purdue next week.
01:01They're going to be 11-1, and all these people are going to bang the drum for three loss SEC teams, which I'll admit, you know, man for man on the roster, Joe, they're probably better than Indiana.
01:13But you lose three games, it's very hard for you to make an argument off of a team that's lost one game.
01:20You know, we said it all week long last week.
01:24I said my biggest fear here is that Indiana is going to get blown out, and then all of a sudden the committee will shift its attention to giving us an extra two loss or even a three loss SEC team over Indiana since their schedule was weak.
01:41And the only team that they really did play was Ohio State, and they couldn't compete.
01:47So yeah, I think that's a worry.
01:51In fact, if you think that they're going to get screwed over, I believe them not to make the playoff now, Scott Carver, is 10-1.
02:01I think you can get 10-1 Indiana not to make the college football playoff if you want to go that route.
02:09I have it right here, actually.
02:12The no is plus 980.
02:14You're right.
02:15The no is plus 980.
02:17The yes, minus 2200.
02:20You know, all right.
02:22I would like to see them in, Joe, because I'm more of I know that there's purists who say I want the 12 best teams.
02:28That's it.
02:31I like, now that we've gone to 12, that I can actually have something different in the college football playoff.
02:37And what could be more different than Indiana who, let's be fair, and here's one thing that bothered me, Joe, about Signetti on Saturday.
02:44I thought that he played that game in the second half to not get blown out by Moore.
02:52I think that he pulled it in to lose by 20, and I think he could have lost the game by 35 or 40 if he would have kept playing.
03:02I think that he laid down for most of that second half in terms of some of the stuff he was calling on, some of the stuff they did on offense,
03:09some of the decisions that were made in terms of that.
03:12And I didn't particularly love that, but I get why he was doing it.
03:18Listen, I think Signetti was the better coach, just didn't have the better players.
03:25And keep in mind, none of this is going to matter once Ryan Day loses to Michigan this week and gets fired, and then they hire Signetti anyway.
03:34But you've got to look at them dropping Garvin out.
03:38They went from fifth, right?
03:40They were fifth in the poll.
03:41So what happens now?
03:43Are they 13th?
03:45Are they 11th?
03:47You've got to account for Boise State is going to take that 12 spot one way or the other, right?
03:52So where did they fall in there?
03:55That's the problem.
03:56And who can blow by past them?
04:00Would it be a two-loss Big 12 team?
04:03Would it be a two-loss ACC team?
04:05I mean, who could overtake a one-loss Indiana team if they're not in the top 12 when the committee meets?
