00:12The Commission on Elections' preparations for the Hatol ng Bayan 2025 is already underway.

00:18In fact, next week, the Comelec will start printing balotas for the National Printing Office.

00:25On January 6, we will start printing balotas.

00:29In fact, we will witness all of that, the start of printing balotas.

00:36The Comelec will be the first to print balotas for overseas voting.

00:41And these are only 1.3 million balotas

00:44because it will use more internet voting, OFWs.

00:48This week, the Comelec will also release the balotas themselves.

00:53Although they already have a list of candidates whose names will be included in the balotas,

01:00the Comelec admitted that it is possible that there are still names to be included in the printed balotas,

01:06the disqualified candidates, or that the names will be added

01:10because there are still cases of disqualification in their acceptance

01:14and there are also disqualified candidates who have appealed to the Supreme Court.

01:18There is a wording there that there are still names to be included,

01:22but it can still be removed when the final and executive judgment of the commission is released.

01:33is former Caloocan 2nd District Representative Edgar Erice,

01:37who is hoping to run for Congress again.

01:39But the Comelec and the bank disqualified him

01:42because he was involved in spreading false news during the election.

01:45Erice asked the Supreme Court to issue a temporary restraining order

01:49and to study the Comelec's resolution up to the point of disqualifying him.

01:54When you read the Comelec's resolution, it is ridiculous

02:00because their basis is that I violated Section 261 of the Omnibus Election Code.

02:09But it is very clear, even if you read it now,

02:12that you will only be disqualified on the day of the election.

02:18Erice also argued that it is not true that he was involved in the election

02:22and that he was spreading false news.

02:24The truth is that he only wanted to clarify the issues in the contract

02:27of Comelec and Miros Systems Company Ltd.,

02:30the country's automated counting machine provider for the election.

02:34What I am saying is my constitutional right

02:40to criticize a government agency

02:45and whoever is being paid by the Filipinos.

02:50I am a taxpayer.

03:03And by disqualifying me, they are taking advantage of me.

03:09Comelec said that they are open to Erice's appeal.

03:13But they will continue to print balotas

03:25from the Supreme Court,

03:27we will have to proceed with the printing of the balotas.
