00:00A patent has been achieved by a company in Iloilo City for their scientific discovery.

00:07Isabella was the one who led the process for the breeding of goats.

00:11Jonathan Andal will now tell you about the scientific breakthroughs.

00:18Meet these five growing kids.

00:21They are young goats,

00:23the product of the process helped by the Department of Science and Technology at Isabella State University.

00:29That is Embryo Transfer and Artificial Insemination,

00:32which is also done by humans.

00:35The embryo is collected from a superior female goat donor

00:39and transferred to a surrogate that will give birth.

00:42The project team has completed the embryo transfer three times

00:46and the goats are safe to grow.

00:49DOST's target now is to teach embryo transfer to veterinarians in Region 2

00:54to accelerate the production of goats.

00:58It is a proud moment for a private university in Iloilo City

01:02that was the first to use a patent for their scientific discovery.

01:07It was discovered by Dr. Dora Linda Lizay, Dr. Jonel Saludes and Edna Sabido

01:13of the University of San Agustin that some bacteria can be antibiotics

01:18in marine sand or sand in the sea of Iloilo.

01:22Under the patent, they have exclusive rights to develop, make and sell the so-called antibiotics.
