00:38The National Assembly inaugurates its annual period of ordinary sessions 2025 this Sunday,
00:45January 5th, 2025, as established on Article 219 of the Constitution of the Bolivar Republic
00:52of Venezuela.
00:54Prior to the installation session, the directive of the parliament is scheduled to honour the
00:59father of the hamlet, SimĂłn BolĂvar, with a floral offering in the BolĂvar Square in
01:04Caracas, next to the federal legislative palace.
01:07Article 219 of the Magna Carta establishes that the first period of the ordinary session
01:14of the National Assembly shall commence without prior notice on January 5th of each year or
01:21the next possible date thereafter and shall last until August 15th.
01:27Meanwhile, Article 6 of the International Regulations and Debates of the National Assembly
01:33states that the National Assembly shall have a board of directors composed of a president
01:40and will have a board of directors composed of a president, as we said, a first vice president
01:47and a second vice president.
01:51During the meetings, the deputies will elect the president, the first vice president and
01:56other parliamentary members who will be in charge of the legislative branch during 2025.
