00:00Three things, I think, Robert Kraft has gotten right.
00:04Knowing when it was time to move on from Bill Belichick,
00:07knowing when it was time to move on from Gerard Mayo,
00:10and making sure the team drafted Drake May.
00:13Whether he had any say in that or not, I guess it's sort of up to your interpretation,
00:16but they at least took the right guy at three.
00:19Okay, but everything else?
00:21Hiring Gerard Mayo, in the first place, a disaster.
00:26Having Elliot Wolfe be promoted to the spot that he's in,
00:29seems like a disaster.
00:31The whole, you know, not interviewing head coaches last year, disaster.
00:35The offensive coordinator thing, and by all accounts, being cheap,
00:39and having to settle for your 13th option, not very good.
00:42Having all this cap space, not even spending it,
00:44not spending real cash dollars on the team,
00:46you know, cheaping out on the roster, terrible.
00:49So, yeah, he knew when to move on from the coach,
00:52but he never should have hired that coach in the first place.
00:54So, it's hard to have a great deal of confidence in him.
00:57Yesterday's press conference, I think kind of summed that up,
01:00where he sort of starts out by, you know,
01:02saying he feels bad for Gerard Mayo, which is fine,
01:04put him in a tough spot, all that.
01:05You're like, alright, good, you made that move.
01:08And then it just kind of slipped away.
01:09Like, is Elliot Wolfe back or is he not?
01:11Is the next head coach going to make those decisions or is he not?
01:14Do you have two quarterbacks or do you have one?
01:15Like, it just kind of slipped away.
01:17So, no, I don't have a great deal of confidence.
01:19So, this might sound weird to phrase it this way,
01:22and I agree, I think he got all three of those right.
01:24I'm not sure everybody agrees with you and I on the bill portion.
01:27Oh, no, I think that's like 50-50.
01:29I think a lot of people disagree with that.
01:32So, a lot of people might only have two check marks,
01:34knowing when to move on from Mayo and drafting Drake May,
01:38having input and say in drafting Drake May.
01:40I'm with you on all three of those.
01:41I think that's a good list.
01:42If you want to look for reasons to have faith in Robert Kraft
01:45beyond six Super Bowls and two decades of success,
01:49because I think we know who had a big hand in that success.
01:52So, trying to really put it on Robert Kraft,
01:56I think those are good things you've identified.
01:59I do think firing Mayo was easy for a lot of us.
02:02It was hard for him.
02:03Yeah, I believe him when he says that.
02:05It's his hand-picked guy, but he knew when he fired him
02:09that was going to be a PR win and a popular decision.
02:12So, it's embarrassing to take your hand-picked guy and fire him.
02:16But it is an easy call when it comes to your fan base
02:18and your own popularity.
