00:00Happy Wednesday to all of us, I am Benison Estareja.
00:05The cold wind or north-east monsoon will continue to blow in the northern and central Luzon,
00:11while the shoreline will be affected in the southern Luzon and Visayas.
00:16This is the line where the hot wind comes from the east, also known as the easterly,
00:22and the cold north-east monsoon or cold wind.
00:24However, it is expected that in the northern and southern Luzon,
00:28there will be strong rains that may cause floods or landslides.
00:32Based on our latest satellite animation,
00:35we do not see any typhoons or low-pressure areas,
00:38and we do not expect any new weather disturbances for this year and the coming days.
00:43For today, it is still expected that in the northern and southern Luzon,
00:48here in the Bicol Region, the shoreline will be affected by the hot and cold wind,
00:52and it is also expected that this part of Quezon, Marinduque, and Romblon will be affected,
00:58so bring an umbrella if you are going out of the house,
01:00and be careful of the strong rains that may cause floods and landslides.
01:06Here in the northern part, there is still a strong effect of the north-east monsoon or cold wind.
01:12It is expected that there will be light to moderate rains in the Cagayan Valley,
01:17Cordillera Administrative Region, and a large part of the central Luzon,
01:20even parts of Frizal and Laguna.
01:23So make sure that we have an umbrella,
01:26and bring a jacket just in case of the cold.
01:29Here in the Ilocos Region, Metro Manila, and here in Calabarzon,
01:34there are partly cloudy to cloudy skies,
01:36and there is a chance that it will rain heavily.
01:38While in the Mindoro Provinces,
01:40there are partly cloudy to cloudy skies in the morning,
01:42but there is a high chance that it will rain,
01:44especially in Oriental Mindoro, when the sun sets in the afternoon.
01:47It is expected that the temperature will drop due to the effects of the north-east monsoon and shear line
01:52over most of Luzon.
01:54Metro Manila, it is possible that the sun will set in the early morning at 22°C,
01:58in Tagaytay, the lowest temperature is 21°C,
02:01and it is colder here in the northern part, in Tuguegarao,
02:04up to 20°C, and the hottest temperature is 25°C,
02:08while in the Cordillera Region, between 14°C to 15°C is the coldest temperature.
02:14To our countrymen in Visayas and Palawan,
02:17it is expected that it will rain heavily today
02:19due to the effects of the shear line,
02:22or the heat and cold wind,
02:24where there is a high chance of rain.
02:27In Eastern Visayas,
02:29where it is facing the Pacific Ocean,
02:31there are moderate to heavy rains,
02:33or up to 100 mm of rain,
02:35beware of possible floods and landslides.
02:38And as early as this morning,
02:40there are also areas where there will be heavy rains,
02:41especially in the southern part of Visayas,
02:44the Negros Island Region,
02:46including Siquijor, Southern Cebu, and Southern Bohol.
02:49And the rains will continue
02:51for the next few days,
02:53especially in the areas of Panay Island.
02:55The temperature in a large part of Visayas,
02:57from 24°C to 30°C,
02:59while in Palawan, from 23°C to 31°C.
03:03And to our countrymen in Mindanao,
03:06there are also areas affected by the shear line,
03:08as early as this morning,
03:09including a large part of Zamboanga Peninsula,
03:12this is also a part of Misamis Occidental,
03:15Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur,
03:17as well as Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands.
03:20But the rains will sustain
03:22in Dinagat Islands
03:24because of the shear line.
03:26In the remaining part of Mindanao,
03:28there are areas where the sky is cloudy
03:30from dawn to dusk,
03:32and then from dusk to night,
03:34the weather is often gloomy
03:36and there is also a chance
03:37that there will be heavy rains
03:39or just a slight snowfall.
03:41The temperature here in Metro Davao
03:43is from 24°C to 32°C.
03:46As of now, our gale warning
03:48is only concentrated in Calaguas Islands
03:50and Hilagang Baybayin in Catanduanes,
03:53where the waves are still up to 4.5 meters
03:55from morning to afternoon.
03:57But when the afternoon comes,
03:59a possible portion will come down
04:01and our gale warning will be removed
04:03in the areas that we mentioned.
04:05However, today and in the coming days,
04:07the waves will be high
04:09in Hilagang Baybayin, Luzon,
04:11and Silangang Baybayin, Luzon, and Visayas.
04:13It will also have a strong effect
04:15on the Northeast Monsoon
04:17up to 3.5 meters
04:19or it will still be on one floor of the house
04:21so it is still dangerous for small sea vessels
04:23until the weekend.
04:25While the waves are still here in Luzon, Visayas,
04:27and Malaking Baybayin, Mindanao,
04:29the waves are up to 2.5 meters
04:31when there are thunderstorms.
04:35And for our three-day weather forecast,
04:37from tomorrow until Saturday,
04:39strong rains will continue
04:41in a large part of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
04:44It will still have an effect on the shoreline
04:46or the hot and cold winds,
04:48especially in the Bicol region
04:50and Eastern Visayas.
04:52Where we have an increased weather advisory
04:54for the next three days,
04:56it is concentrated in the eastern part of our country.
04:59Expect moderate or heavy rains.
05:01By tomorrow or up to 100 millimeters
05:03in the Bicol region,
05:05especially in the Camarines Sur,
05:07Albay, Sosogon, and Catanduanes
05:09and Northern Samar,
05:11Samar, and Eastern Samar.
05:14Then when it comes to Friday,
05:16that's January 10,
05:18expect moderate or heavy rains
05:20in Albay, Sosogon,
05:22Samar, and Eastern Samar
05:24while it is possible to reach
05:26up to 200 millimeters
05:28in the Bicol region.
05:29Again, this is because of the shoreline
05:31which is typical
05:33when the Northeast Monsoon
05:35is strong at this time.
05:37It is possible that this will change
05:39and there will be more moderate
05:41to heavy or even at times intense
05:43rains in the Bicol region,
05:45Eastern Visayas, Caraga region,
05:47and some parts of Calabarzon.
05:49So always stay tuned
05:51to our updates.
05:53Be careful of possible floods
05:55and landslides,
05:57especially here in the areas
05:59of Samar
06:01and Southern Bicol region.
06:03For our today's weather forecast,
06:05the strong Northeast Monsoon
06:07will continue to affect
06:09the remaining areas of Luzon
06:11especially in Cagayan Valley,
06:13Cordillera region,
06:15Aurora, and nearby areas
06:17like Calabarzon and Central Luzon
06:19with light to moderate rains
06:21while the remaining areas
06:23of Luzon and Metro Manila
06:25are expected to be flooded
06:27with isolated light rains.
06:29For tomorrow,
06:31our countrymen who will travel
06:33to the whole of Sareno
06:35are expected to see mostly cloudy skies
06:37with a chance of moderate to moderate rains.
06:39While here in the majority of Mindanao
06:41are expected to see isolated thunderstorms.
06:43Usually, this will last for 1 to 2 hours
06:45and this is because of the easterly
06:47or the hot winds
06:49from the east.
06:51Our sunrise is 623 in the morning
06:53and the sunset is 542 in the afternoon.
06:56That is the latest from
06:57the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
06:59I am again Benison Estareja.
