00:00It sure was nice of Mr. Burns to invite us to his country house in Pennsylvania.
00:05Here's a quick look at the Jack Specific The Simpsons Vampire Mr. Burns.
00:18The Simpsons Premium Mr. Burns action figure stands five inches tall,
00:22accurately capturing his animated look and feel.
00:25Vampire Mr. Burns features ten points of articulation for dynamic poses and play.
00:29Vampire Mr. Burns' face and hands change color with UV light exposure,
00:33adding an undeadly vampire element to play time.
00:36Slide the button on Vampire Mr. Burns' coffin to make him pop up and rise from the dead,
00:40delivering an unexpected thrill during play.
00:43While this guy is about to have a look at Vampire Burns,
00:46feel free to help yourself to the blood at the snack table.
00:48Correction, free blood.
00:50Taking the tape measure though to right to the very top of his head,
00:53I'll make no comment about his hairstyle.
00:55Vampire Burns in fact is four and three quarters of an inch in height,
00:58or about 12 centimeters tall.
01:00As for other Simpsons, here's what he looks like with little, um, boy.
01:04Bart Simpson.
01:05Here's also what he looks like with Homer Simpson.
01:07And yes, Homer did wash his neck.
01:09Lisa Simpson's joining us as well for this review.
01:11Here's also what he looks like with groundskeeper Willie.
01:14Otto, over off to the side.
01:16And here's one of the other deluxe figures we've also got from Jack Specific, Radioactive Man.
01:19Speaking of Radioactive Man,
01:21while maybe initially being on the fence that Jack's maybe jacked up the price of that deluxe figure
01:25by unnecessarily including a background for Radioactive Man number one,
01:29I ended up actually liking the way that that was presented.
01:32I'm though pleased as punch with the extra frills that Jack's threw at Vampire Burns,
01:36the fact that they actually include his casket.
01:38The figure does also sit inside that,
01:40but before we actually do that, let's get a good look at the coffin.
01:43The coffin itself does have B on the front,
01:45but for Burns, we of course can take the lid off.
01:48Some somewhat comfortable bedding inside.
01:50We got ourselves a pillow.
01:51That seems as flat of a pillow I tend to like to have.
01:53I don't like a really comfortable padded pillow.
01:56My pillow is pretty thin.
01:57I've had that thing for years and I've broken it in nicely.
02:00It's the perfect sleeping pillow.
02:02Don't ever consider the idea of swapping out my pillow for something new.
02:05I'm going to throw it out the window.
02:06I'm not actually going to throw it out the window.
02:08I don't really like people that exaggerate, but no exaggeration at all.
02:11I really like the look of the coffin here.
02:13It does have, again, a removable lid, but Burns is going to sit inside.
02:16You're probably wondering also what this is here for.
02:18I'll show you guys also in a second.
02:19Some detail here on the side.
02:20We got some bats.
02:21We got ourselves some gargoyle faces.
02:23We got ourselves some pretty cool-looking, gnarly-looking claws.
02:26On the bottom of this as well.
02:28It's a good size.
02:29It's obviously very hollow in plastic as well.
02:32On this side, there's also a little lever.
02:34The lever will operate this mechanical feature inside.
02:37Basically, what this is, it just swings this back and forth.
02:39Again, you're still probably confused as to what exactly this does.
02:42Well, to answer your question, you basically take yourself your Mr. Burns.
02:46On the bottom of him, you can see that there's a square peg.
02:49All you basically do is just bring this up.
02:51You put Mr. Burns down on top of this.
02:54The first time I actually did this, I had a real struggle to get Mr. Burns off that peg.
02:58I had to wiggle it back and forth.
03:00Eventually, though, I was able to get him off.
03:02Basically, you want to just fold his arms inward.
03:04He's going to have to be able to sit inside the coffin.
03:06Then what you do is just lower this down.
03:09Now, it looks a little underwhelming when you do it in reverse,
03:12but if you do it the way that it should be done,
03:14you flip this up, and Mr. Burns flips forward in his coffin.
03:19You do it a couple of times here.
03:21That's pretty cool, the fact that they included it.
03:23Although, now that I've already done this a couple of times,
03:26Mr. Burns doesn't seem to attach as well to that peg.
03:29When you actually are putting him down,
03:31you just want to make sure that you put enough pressure on it.
03:34There you go, a nice little satisfying snap.
03:36Fold his arms in, take the lever, bring the lever back.
03:39You keep doing this until the cows come home,
03:42or at least until the vampires come home.
03:44Bart's a vampire? No.
03:46One of my favorite, though, of the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes.
03:49Already, right away, the price of admission for Mr. Burns,
03:52although they didn't need to include this,
03:54I would have been just fine if they had done just a vampire Burns on his own.
03:58The casket certainly does sell this a lot for me.
04:01I'm going to go ahead and just bring this forward here.
04:03We're going to take Montgomery Burns and just pop him off.
04:06See, again, that's what I'm talking about.
04:07If you have it really securely on there,
04:09take a little bit more pressure on your part to yank that off the peg.
04:12We'll put that right over there.
04:14We'll take, as well, the lid.
04:15We'll just put the lid on top of it right now.
04:18We'll come back to that, I'm sure, for final looks.
04:20Getting a closer look, though, at Mr. Burns.
04:22First time we are getting a Burns, at least from Jack's Pacific.
04:25We did get ourselves one from Super 7.
04:28I don't even really want to keep bringing back in the Super 7s for comparisons.
04:31We already know what the Montgomery Burns looks like from that.
04:34See Montgomery Burns.
04:35If you guys did also want to go back and look at the review of that,
04:38feel free to do that.
04:39But, yeah, I mean, for the fact that we get ourselves a Vampire Burns,
04:42a perfect addition,
04:44I really should have really looked at this during Halloween,
04:46but I couldn't get my hands on this guy at the time.
04:48I will say, like, he looks pretty good.
04:50Now, he does have also one additional feature.
04:52I don't want to do the feature just yet,
04:53because it takes a little bit of time for him to reset himself.
04:56The idea, though, in mind,
04:58is take yourself a blacklight or a UV source.
05:00I find, though, blacklights are the easiest way to pull off this feature.
05:03Basically, you'll just shine this across his face and across his hands,
05:06and it'll look like Mr. Burns has been burned by the sun.
05:09But the face sculpt, though, is really quite good on this guy.
05:12Again, you've got standard articulation,
05:14so all his head's going to be able to do is rotate all the way around,
05:16because, of course, now the hair that they sculpted on top of his head
05:19does give him a little bit more weight.
05:21The figure does also have, if we just peel back the curtains here,
05:24underneath we have ourselves his robe,
05:26and I guess his robe, is that maybe his nightgown underneath?
05:29I mean, it's all soft here in plastic.
05:31The plastic, I will say one thing.
05:33I mean, this is never something that any company does really well.
05:35The fabric being, or this material that they've used here for the plastic,
05:38clearly isn't the same color as his sleeves.
05:40It's pretty close, though. I can't really fault Jax.
05:42I think they've done a nice enough job of matching the colors pretty close to one another.
05:46But again, this is all soft plastic.
05:48At least by having this be something that's softer,
05:50it gives you a little bit more freedom to be able to move the figure around.
05:53It's not limited just only to his arm articulation and his head articulation.
05:57No, Vampire Burns, you can actually get there as well in there and rotate his torso.
06:01Speaking of his articulation, I guess we'll kind of cover off things first
06:04before we bring out the sunlight.
06:06Monk Armory Burns, though, his C Monk Armory Burns,
06:09does rotate his head all the way around.
06:11His arms do rotate also all the way around.
06:13You can hinge them out very easily.
06:15He has a single hinge only in his elbow.
06:17That's basically what we've all kind of been covered with a five-inch scale,
06:20Jax Pacific Simpsons.
06:22And like with all the other Simpsons, he does also have a rotation here in his arm.
06:25A rotation in his hand, yeah.
06:27And he also has the upper torso ball joint.
06:29Nothing in the legs, because again, like his legs, it's just all one sculpted piece.
06:32There's the peg underneath that's going to plug into the coffin.
06:35Pretty cool looking figure, though.
06:37So let's move this guy out of the way.
06:39We'll move the casket out of the way.
06:41And let's bring in some sunlight here.
06:43Now again, with this, you can just expose this to UV light.
06:45If you have yourself a black light, you can do it so much quicker.
06:47The black light will give him that burned look like the sun's exposed his skin.
06:51We'll kind of start a little bit here with his hands.
06:53Take the black light, we'll shine it across his hands.
06:55And you may already see for yourself with what little exposure I've done.
06:59See, I've just burnt the fingers there.
07:01Go across the hand there as well.
07:03So that's what it looks like now.
07:05This is what it looked like before.
07:07You can also as well burn the inside.
07:09So it's not just solely just for the outside of his plastic.
07:12Anything that's been molded in this yellow has the same resulting effect.
07:16Again, you can just bring this across his hand.
07:18You can see how well this burns.
07:19Ah, it burns. I see what I did there.
07:21And already you can see with very little exposure to this light,
07:24how it's already starting to burn his face.
07:26Just run, again, the black light across his eyes, across the top of his forehead.
07:32And you can probably already see why I chose to leave this near the end of the review.
07:36Just because, again, it takes a little longer for this to go and reset itself back to the yellow.
07:40But at least it's a fun little additional gimmick that doesn't really impede at all.
07:43It doesn't necessarily take anything away from the figure's articulation.
07:46You can still do everything that you would basically be able to do still with the regular 5-inch scale Simpsons figures.
07:52Just the fact that he does also have the benefit now of a burnt face.
07:56You can also kind of put your hand on it and start to kind of cool down the plastic.
07:59Just give it, though, a little bit of time.
08:01He'll reset back to yellow.
08:02The yellow, though, isn't as...
08:04Obviously, it's not the same kind of yellow as they used already for the 5-inch Simpsons.
08:08I mean, all the Simpsons have now had kind of the more darker yellow
08:11because they don't have to worry about a feature being incorporated to it.
08:14I like it, though.
08:15I don't know how often, though, I will want to do this
08:17because I think, like, long-term, I think that may eventually cause damage to the actual plastic.
08:21But at least, certainly, for showing you guys in this review,
08:24it's a nice little fun feature to have.
08:26And again, like, when it comes to displaying this guy,
08:28you can either choose to have him inside the casket
08:30or, hey, why not even just have him displayed outside the casket?
08:32I wonder if we are going to be getting a regular Mr. Burns.
08:34I mean, like, the fact...
08:35How many waves already are we in for the Jack-specific line
08:38and how much have they covered so far with this line?
08:40Again, bringing back in Homer Simpson.
08:42Where is Bart?
08:43Bart right over here.
08:44Let's also bring in, as well, Lisa.
08:47I think, really, of the two,
08:48and it may have something else to do with the fact
08:50that I just love Simpson's Trios of Horror,
08:52I like this one a little bit more than Radioactive Man.
08:54Radioactive Man ended up surprising me
08:56because I really kind of went in there thinking, like,
08:58I didn't think that Jacks needed to increase the cost of the figure
09:01just by only including a background the way that they did.
09:04Burns, on the other hand, though,
09:05the fact that, you know, if...
09:07Had they just released Mr. Burns solely on his own
09:09and had they not even included a feature where you could be able to burn his skin,
09:12I think, already, I would have wanted to get this guy as part of my collection.
09:15The fact that he has that...
09:16The fact that he has that is a figure I feel is one of the best that we've gotten,
09:20at least of the deluxe line.
09:22Now, again, we've only really gotten for deluxe figures Radioactive Man and now Mr. Burns,
09:26but the fact that they are throwing as many things in there,
09:29it really does seem like Jacks Pacific is thinking outside the box,
09:32or, in this case, thinking outside the casket.
09:34Now, allowing the plastic on Mr. Burns to absorb some of that juicy UV light,
09:39it'll make the plastic look like it's been burnt,
09:41and it will stay that way for about 30 seconds to a minute
09:44before it reverts back.
09:45In fact, during the time that this guy is talking behind the camera
09:48and wrapping up the review for him,
09:49you might even be able to see for yourself it turning back to the yellow plastic it was before.
09:53I didn't even need this feature to be sold on a Vampire Mr. Burns.
09:57Just, in fact, including this figure as part of the lineup of what they've done so far.
10:01Picking up a Vampire Mr. Burns was top of my list.
10:04Then adding, of course, a casket on top of that,
10:07and then a burning feature that is activated by UV light,
10:10I'm sold right away.
10:12Unfortunately, though, selling this guy seems to be an issue still here in Canada.
10:16Yet to have found any Simpsons figures, for that matter, in Canadian stores.
10:20One good thing, though, is I'm now starting to see these things starting to show up on Amazon.
10:24So instead of going the route of going through, like, the Facebook selling group,
10:27which has been what I've been doing as of late,
10:29seems now that I can go to Amazon to start buying up the Simpsons figures.
10:33Ah, there you can see the yellow plastic is starting to change back.
10:36Yeah, Amazon seems, at least for me as a Canadian collector,
10:39to be the best route of getting the Jack Specific.
10:41I will say, though, like, Jax really needs to step up their distribution here in Canada.
10:45I don't know what it's like in the States,
10:47but I can tell you it's pretty barren here in Canada.
10:49Not just for the Simpsons, but I've noticed as well, like,
10:52their Nintendo figures have dried up completely in stores as well.
10:55If Jax can keep fixing what they're doing when it comes to their distribution,
10:59this guy's going to keep buying the Simpsons stuff that they're putting out.
11:02What do you guys think of Vampire Mr. Burns?
11:04Let me know down below in the comments section.
11:06One of your favorite Trios of Horror episodes?
11:08You know, again, I did want to have a look at this guy during Halloween.
11:10It just didn't work out that way.
11:12But we certainly are looking at him right now.
11:14And this guy is going to be going on the shelf,
11:16not just during Halloween, but all year round with the rest of my Simpsons figures.
11:20If you guys did enjoy this video, you can do it a solid throw to like.
11:23You guys want to stick around for more so? I hope so.
11:25Hit that subscribe, turn on that bell, come back.
11:27As always, thanks for watching.
11:29See you guys next time.
11:40You
