00:00Good evening from Villa Park where Villa are celebrating a first FA Cup home win since 2016
00:09and everyone in the press room is celebrating the fact the game didn't go to extra time.
00:15It didn't because Morgan Rodgers got the winner 14 minutes before the end,
00:19completing a swift turnaround which saw Villa score twice in five minutes,
00:24Amadou Anana having cancelled out Lucas Pochetta's first-half strike
00:29and it meant that on the night Villa celebrated their 150th anniversary,
00:33wore an all-black kit, they were left victorious.
00:38For a long time it looked like Pochetta was going to poop the party really.
00:42Villa were poor, they didn't manage an attempt on goal until the 54th minute,
00:47West Ham were in front, seemingly re-energised under new boss Graham Potter
00:52and they were well worth a lead and Villa were struggling to create any chances.
00:56That all changed in the last half an hour, Villa started to get moving,
01:00Emily Boindia came off the bench with a game at 1-1 and played her hand in the winner
01:05and Villa ultimately could have won by more,
01:08Morgan Rodgers hitting the post after scoring and a number of other attacking opportunities
01:15not quite coming off but it was a much improved performance in the last 20 minutes,
01:18half an hour for Villa and it saw them win the game and they were in the hat for the fourth round.
01:24A bit of fortune, a bit of controversy over the equaliser, it came from a corner
01:29which shouldn't have been a corner, Amadou Anana shanking the shot out of play.
01:34On the other side Villa didn't get a corner when they should have got a corner about five minutes earlier
01:40so arguably those two things cancelled each other out but West Ham weren't very happy.
01:45But a win for Villa, again not a great performance in the first hour,
01:50similar to the weekend game against Leicester where really they struggled to get moving.
01:54They're going to have to improve, they're going to have to get better at that.
01:57It's away at Everton, the next three games are away from home,
02:01they're starting at Everton on Wednesday night when they've lost the last five Premier League away games
02:07so that record needs to improve.
02:09The only downside on the night, or the real one downside on the night is the injury to Ross Barkley,
02:13he's got a calf problem which we know he respects,
02:16we'll keep him out for two to three weeks but Villa are going to scan,
02:20or Ross Barkley's going to have a scan on that tomorrow when they should know more.
02:24But otherwise a good night at Villa Park and we didn't get the extra period and freezing cold temperatures.
