00:00FIVOX-DOST officially released the sourcebook containing the stories of the people who were saved from the disaster.
00:07This is Rocky Bautista of BIA Ilocos Region with the national news.
00:14FIVOX-DOST officially released the Ilocos Sourcebook of the DANAS Project on January 14 in San Fernando City, Union.
00:23The project's goal is to make the information about disaster preparedness in Ilocos Region 1 understandable by the communities.
00:35The sourcebook will be your reference in teaching or spreading information about earthquake, tsunami, and volcano preparedness.
00:48The sourcebook contains the stories of the people who were saved from the disaster such as earthquake, tsunami, and volcano.
00:57Now by using local languages, we call them vernacular, right?
01:03And incorporating community narratives, we make disaster preparedness not only more accessible but also more relevant and relatable to our diverse Filipino communities.
01:16With the help of DOST FIVOX, Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, and University of the Philippines Visayas, the whole project is under the Grants-in-Aid program of DOST.
01:27The Ilocos Sourcebook will serve as the primary guide for DRRM officers, teachers, and local officials in spreading awareness about calamity.
01:37Through the DANAS Project, we support an inclusive discussion on disaster resilience based on the community's knowledge and experience.
