00:00Hello there welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met
00:04Office. Now the UK sits between high pressure centred to the southeast and
00:10low pressure systems which are tracking towards the north of Scotland and what
00:15that means lighter winds across England and Wales always stronger winds across
00:20Scotland even Northern Ireland for a time and weather fronts just brushing
00:25the north as well as the northwest bringing cloud and rain particularly
00:28towards northern and northwestern areas of the country. Now further south the
00:33issue will be over the next few days fog as well as some pockets of frost as well
00:38where we see clearer skies winds remain light here into the weekend. In fact
00:43that's how we see this evening and overnight stubborn cloud anywhere from
00:47the Midlands East Anglia down towards the southeast a lot of cloud across the
00:51northwest of Scotland with some outbreaks of rain in between some
00:55clearer skies now a few things happen through this evening and into Thursday
00:59the cloud increases across Northern Ireland you've seen some lovely sunshine
01:03today more cloud through tomorrow elsewhere with those clearer skies we'll
01:08see probably some pockets of frost so temperatures dipping close to freezing
01:13if not below and again with a lighter breeze fog will reform anywhere from
01:18central and southern parts of England and Wales down towards the West Country
01:22that cloud continues to be stubborn towards the southeast but you can see
01:27these temperatures are fairly low across northern England the Midlands Wales and
01:31even eastern parts of Scotland sheltered from that south to south westerly wind
01:36so first thing then tomorrow morning the fog yet again could be slow to clear a
01:42cold start across Wales northern England southern Scotland more cloud to begin
01:47Thursday across Northern Ireland the central belt of Scotland towards the
01:50northwest now here any patchy rain tends to clear we'll see some fine
01:55weather even some hazy sunshine and certainly some sunshine across northern
01:59England down towards the western side of Wales but look at this cloud which will
02:03persist through the day the Midlands Lincolnshire down towards the southeast
02:08central southern England one or two holes possible but generally speaking
02:12yes those dull skies will continue now temperatures tomorrow lowest probably
02:18where we've seen the frost through the first part of the day we're likely to
02:21see eight or nine across the north and northwest of Scotland that wind mixing
02:25things up slightly so through Thursday evening and overnight not a lot of
02:31change not much movement in our weather but we will see an increasing amount of
02:36clouds and even some outbreaks of rain notice the winds are picking up here as
02:40well the northwest of Scotland transferring towards northern Scotland
02:43into the early hours of Thursday morning just for a time associated with this
02:46fairly weak weather front although the rain could be quite persistent across
02:50the western side into Friday elsewhere low clouds even some fog patches and
02:55weather clouds thick enough into Friday some patchy drizzle particularly over
02:59the higher ground through the day temperatures will struggle across
03:02England and Wales six or seven degrees Celsius some rain across the highlands
03:07of Scotland towards the north there but drier in shelter and a lot of cloud for
03:11Northern Ireland here's your outlook then through Saturday yes we're still
03:16under that cloudy regime with the lightest winds across England and Wales
03:19and still rather breezy towards north and northwest I'll see you later
