00:00It's grown organically. We originally started doing things back in 2015 and it was called Stylish of the North then.
00:07Catwalk for a Cause is about people with stories. They go up onto the runway, the catwalk, and they tell their stories of strength, hope, courage, inspiration.
00:21It's such an incredible event because I think it brings so many parts of our organisation together for one event.
00:29The models are modelling from our retail boutiques. Some people who are walking the catwalk are currently using our services.
00:39We pull in the clinicians to support them in that journey. We obviously have the fundraising team involved as well.
00:46Then we have a support network on the evening which includes some of our nurses and our chaplain as well.
00:54We all come together for this very special night. It's great.
00:58We're delighted to say it's sold out. There's a waiting list. It grows arms and legs year on year which is what I've always dreamt of.
01:10It's indescribable to be honest. Just the love and support in the room. Everyone is so supportive.
01:17A lot of the audience will be there supporting a loved one on the catwalk.
01:22There's also corporate tables. There's people who come year on year who get so much from the event itself.
01:31Maybe they've had their own struggles. Maybe they've had their own journeys. It really does support them.
01:37Just the love and support. It's incredible.
01:40Again, I think some people do have a perception of the hospice that it is exclusively end-of-life care.
01:49Listening to people's journeys, listening to their stories, we'll see everything else that the hospice is to offer.
01:56Maybe by getting that word out there we can help someone within our community who needs it.
02:02It just brings it back home to what it's all about. None of us know what's around the corner.
02:09Catwalk for a Cause is about these warriors that are up there on that catwalk.
02:19I can't do enough for them because their stories are just incredible.
