00:13office to the McCaskies to Caleb Williams, who now gets one of the foremost offensive minds in
00:20the NFL working with them on a daily basis. They knew that they needed to be bold. They knew that
00:25they were going to have to pay. They were going to have to maybe operate a little bit differently
00:30than how the Bears have operated in the past. This really escalated starting this morning.
00:37They entered into contract negotiations. Ben Johnson, based upon having really three teams,
00:42but especially the Raiders and the Bears, he was not going to have to go through the whole
00:47second interview circuit and bounce around. He was going to have multiple opportunities.
00:52And credit to the Bears for stepping up. This was always the job. I've been very consistent
00:57about this, saying it for a couple of months now. He was intrigued by the Bears' opening.
01:02He was willing to listen after the season. My understanding all along has been that's the one
01:07that was going to make the most sense for Ben Johnson. The Raiders made a strong push.
01:11He could have had that job if he wanted it. The Jaguars were involved as well.
01:14But he ends up landing in Chicago, stays in the Midwest, stays in the NFC North division,
01:20and now takes over a Bears team that, quite frankly,
01:23it's got to be an extremely exciting day in Hallis Hall and throughout all the Bears fans.
