00:00What was the vision or the inspiration behind all that?
00:02Um, I always wanted to give back to the game.
00:06You know, my dream was always to give back to football, to soccer.
00:10And, you know, punditry or management was something that I never saw myself going into.
00:17You know, my dream was always to own a team.
00:20I always wanted to own a team.
00:22So when I moved to America, you know, I had the opportunity to put in one of my contracts,
00:27or the contract, that at the end of my time there, I could own a franchise and I could
00:33pick the city where it was going to be.
00:35And I knew from day one that I wanted Miami.
00:38I knew that that was the place where I wanted to be.
00:40And a lot of people said to me, it's a tough sporting city.
00:44Do you really want to go there?
00:45And I was like, that's exactly where I want to be.
00:47Why?
00:48Because it was a challenge.
00:50And I would say it's been the hardest challenge, actually, in my career and in my business.
00:57But the most rewarding.
00:59It's the most rewarding for many reasons, you know, to see the team grow, to see the
01:05franchise grow, to see the club grow, and to see what we have now.
01:10You know, we're building a new parcel.
01:12We have a new parcel of land, 32-acre parcel of land in Miami where we're building the
01:18new stadium, Miami Freedom Park, which we're very excited about.
01:24There'll be retail space.
01:26There'll be parks there.
01:27And obviously, the stadium will be there.
01:29So we're very excited about that.
01:31But, you know, when I moved to America, yes, I wanted to lift the game.
01:36Yes, I wanted to be part of, you know, making soccer as popular as it is everywhere else
01:42around the world.
01:43But I wanted to win.
01:45I wanted to win on the field, first off.
01:47You know, I had a six-year contract there.
01:50And yes, I wanted to build the game.
01:53But more importantly to me, I wanted to win championships.
01:56And luckily, in the end, I won two championships in America.
02:01But now, being the owner of a club that has the greatest player to have ever played the
02:06game, you know, that's down to people's opinion.
02:09But in my opinion, he's the greatest person to have played the game.
02:13It's not that controversial.
02:15Not anymore.
02:17You think MLS can be as popular as Europe?
02:19I do.
02:20I've always believed in the potential.
02:22You know, America is America.
02:23Simple as that.
02:24It's a powerful country.
02:25It's one of the biggest and greatest opportunities of countries.
02:31And you believe that.
02:32When I moved to America, it's a land of opportunity.
02:35I knew that I wanted to live in America at one point and create a business.
02:40And to create a business that we've done, and I now sit back in my chair in Miami, in
02:46that stadium, and Leo walks onto that pitch, and I'm like, I'm quite proud of that.
02:52All four boys have the values that he has.
02:55And tonight, we're doing this Miami style in the rain.
02:59This is holy water.
03:01I would like to introduce to you your number 10, Inter-Miami's number 10, America's number
03:1210, the best number 10 in the world, Lionel Andres Messi.
03:22Real firm believer in practice, make perfect.
03:24You can gather all the water, stay thirsty.
03:26Took a lot to get us here, we broke curses.
03:28Kill or be killed, the field show no mercy.
03:31Losers just lose while winners get worshipped.
03:33I came here for fun, let's get turnt up.
03:35Somebody pass me a blood while it's a cold one.
03:37I wanna rule the world, I can't hold it.
03:39Hell of a life, I feel like I'm chosen.
03:41Head on tight, I feel like I'm focused.
03:43Ain't never satisfied, I won't move.
03:45Kobe came and held us up, we back rolling.
03:47Look at all the people in here, we got motion.
03:50Everybody back outside, it's on the toast.
03:52Whole bunch of real good vibes, it feels so cool.
03:54I think it's about that time, it's getting closer.
03:56Whole lot of fingers crossed, a lot of hoping.
03:58Wishing for the best, preparing for the worst.
04:00Got out here, bust my ass.
04:02I had to win, dog, I don't want to.
04:04Everybody wants to.
04:08I really want to start training, to start competing.
04:12I come with the desire that I always had to compete, to want to win.
