00:00Sure, but when you say pressure on Russia and Ukraine to end the war in Ukraine, is
00:07China actually placing any pressure? Do you think behind the scenes, President Xi is saying
00:12to President Putin, this has got to come to an end? What sort of a conversation do you
00:17think they're having, Mr. Gao?
00:19Well, first of all, in the last few days of the Biden administration, the former Secretary
00:24of State Blinken publicly acknowledged that China did play a major role in convincing
00:32Putin that nuclear warheads should not be used in the war in Ukraine. I personally believe
00:39this is one of the biggest contributions China has been playing behind the scenes, urging
00:44both Russia and Ukraine to stop the war as quickly as possible through peace, through
00:49negotiation, through diplomacy, and emphasizing that no country, including Russia or Ukraine
00:55or any other country, should ever dare to use the nuclear weapon.
