00:00Police have recorded the statement of comedian Harif Iskandar over a social media post which

00:07critics claim was offensive to Islam.

00:10Inspector General of Police Razza Rudin Hussain said Harif's statement was taken on Wednesday,

00:15Bernama reported.

00:17In a Facebook post last week, Harif quipped that his faith was shaken after seeing a menu

00:22advertising hamsap coffee as it contained the word ham.

00:27His comment followed the commotion over the sale of chicken ham and cheese sandwiches,

00:32allegedly lacking halal certification, at a convenience store at University Malaya.

00:38Police have received 16 reports on the issue and are still trying to locate another person

00:43identified as Cecilia Yap Song, who is believed to be connected to the case.

00:49Investigations are being held under Sections 298 and 505 of the Penal Code and Sections

00:55233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

00:59Separately, Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Rizdi Issa said Harif's police report had been

01:04referred to the Johor Police.
