00:42Because when it comes to health, this is legit.
00:46This morning in PinoyMD, biking is a good exercise.
00:51But what you should not do while biking, you might end up in danger.
00:55The fruit called Calabash is called a miracle fruit.
00:59This fruit lowers blood pressure and can cure various diseases.
01:06Is this true? Find out with an expert.
01:16But jack is life for many.
01:18Biking is a good exercise.
01:25But what you should not do while biking, you might end up in danger.
01:40But what you should not do while biking, you might end up in danger.
01:52But what you should not do while biking, you might end up in danger.
02:10In this video, you can see a cyclist going uphill.
02:15Suddenly, the wheel broke.
02:18It slipped.
02:20And it slid.
02:23Watch out!
02:25Do you believe in God?
02:29We call it a miracle fruit.
02:33Calabash is called a miracle fruit because it has health benefits.
02:39If your body is healthy, you can see it on your skin.
02:46That's why it's called a miracle fruit.
02:50No one will bash.
02:52Because according to many, Calabash is a miracle fruit that lowers blood pressure and can cure diseases.
03:01When they started drinking it, their blood pressure improved.
03:05And when they go for a blood test, the result is okay.
03:09Is this a miracle fruit or a gift of nature for our health?
03:14Next!
03:21But jack is life for many.
03:27Biking is a good exercise.
03:32But what if your bike...
03:43...ends up in danger?
03:49Of course, it's good.
03:51It's just sudden.
03:53It didn't hold the handlebar properly because the carburetor was too strong.
03:58Ahon!
04:00Luso!
04:03Those are the favorites of bikers.
04:09But what if your bike suddenly loses its handlebar?
04:16In this video, you can see a cyclist going uphill.
04:20Suddenly, the handlebar is gone.
04:24It's gone.
04:26And it's gone.
04:29Watch out!
04:31Meanwhile, our obstetrician gynecologist, Dr. Q, is here to answer some questions about health.
04:37You can send them to our Facebook page.
04:40Good morning, Dr. Q!
04:42Good morning, Connie, and good morning to all of our listeners who are with us this morning.
04:47Question number one, Dr. Q, for you.
04:50What are the signs of menopause?
04:52He's almost 49 years old and his skin is starting to hurt.
04:56He feels like he's about to bleed.
04:59This is the question from Rosalyn Dioso.
05:02Actually, menopause, Rosalyn, is a condition of a woman where she doesn't have periods for the whole year.
05:08But if you're 49 years old and you still have a little bit of bleeding that has become irregular,
05:15this means that you're in the perimenopausal period.
05:19This means that you're about to have menopause.
05:22Your period is about to stop.
05:24Now, what does a woman feel during the perimenopausal period?
05:28First of all, her menstrual cycle becomes irregular.
05:32Sometimes, it's short, between two cycles.
05:35Or sometimes, it's long, more than 35 days.
05:39If a woman is bleeding, the blood flow can be very minimal.
05:45It can be just streaks of blood.
05:47Or it can be that she uses several pads of napkins per day.
05:53These are the common manifestations of a woman in the perimenopausal period.
05:58There are other symptoms like being irritable.
06:02There is also a feeling of dryness of the skin in a woman in the perimenopausal stage.
06:09Is it safe to have an abortion even if she's breastfeeding?
06:14If a woman is fully breastfeeding,
06:17she's protected from getting pregnant during those six months.
06:21But if during the first six months, she's menstruating,
06:25after three or four months, when she's menstruating,
06:27she can potentially get pregnant again.
06:30There are also women who are breastfeeding for two or three years
06:34and then they get pregnant.
06:36This can happen because even if they're breastfeeding,
06:40they can still ovulate, especially if they're being regulated.
06:43Remember that when we're fully breastfeeding,
06:47we have what we call lactational amenorrhea.
06:49It means that when you're fully breastfeeding, you don't ovulate for the first six months.
06:54After that, you can get pregnant any time of the month that you're having a period.
07:00Meanwhile, back to our Facebook question on DocQ.
07:02Is it true that drinking soft drinks strengthens menstruation?
07:08We don't have any evidence that drinking soft drinks strengthens your menstruation.
07:13But there's a correlation between the two.
07:16If you're a woman with diabetes,
07:19or if you're overweight or obese,
07:23and your estrogen level is high,
07:25if the lining of a woman's uterus is thick,
07:29what we call endometrium,
07:31there can be endometrial hyperplasia if they're diabetic or obese.
07:35If you drink or eat sweet foods,
07:39your blood sugar will increase.
07:41It means that you won't be able to control your diabetes and mellitus.
07:45And of course, if you're overweight, you'll have a hyperestrogenic state.
07:49You produce a lot of estrogen,
07:51and that estrogen will thicken the lining of the uterus.
07:55If the lining of the uterus is thick,
07:57or if a woman is breastfeeding,
07:59the flow will be too strong.
08:02Send your questions to our Facebook page,
08:05and maybe you'll be able to answer our questions next week.
08:12Do you believe in the Himalayas?
08:15We call it the Miracle Fruits.
08:18It has a name as such because it has health benefits.
08:24If your body is healthy inside,
08:26you can see it on your skin,
08:28you can see it on your appearance.
08:30That's why we call it the Miracle Fruits.
08:34No one will bash,
08:36because according to many,
08:38the Miracle Fruit of Calabash can lower blood pressure
08:42and can cure diseases.
08:45When they started drinking this,
08:47their blood pressure improved,
08:49and when they went for a blood test,
08:51the result was okay.
08:53Is this Himalaya,
08:55or a gift of nature for our health?
09:00Yes, it's Himalaya.
09:05Taste the fruit all year round.
09:07It's not just Himalaya,
09:09because the fruit is also tasted for its benefits.
09:14That's why Lurie's family from Oriental Mindoro
09:17has been planting this for 5 years.
09:20It has a lot of health benefits.
09:22It's good for people with cancer.
09:25It's good for people with high cholesterol,
09:28for people with high blood pressure,
09:30for people with diabetes.
09:32Some people say it's good for the kidneys.
09:35It also strengthens the immune system.
09:38The miracle fruit called Calabash is believed to be a miracle fruit.
09:44It's a fruit from the Dignaunia family,
09:47which is commonly found in tropical countries.
09:50One time, we visited a farm here,
09:53and we were amazed because there were so many fruits.
09:56We saw this tree, and there were so many fruits, and it was so big.
10:01When we asked what kind of tree it was,
10:03they said it was a miracle fruit.
10:05So we bought that tree.
10:08It's better known as a bottle gourd.
10:11When it's cooked, it's boiled without salt.
10:15It can provide dietary fiber, vitamin C,
10:19and other minerals like calcium.
10:27Lurie boils and drinks its juice.
10:32The taste of this miracle fruit juice is sweet and bitter.
10:39Lurie believes that Calabash lowers her father's blood pressure.
10:45My parents drink it here.
10:47Before, their cholesterol and BP would rise.
10:50When they started drinking it,
10:52their BP would go down.
10:58When it comes to blood pressure,
11:00the main culprit of high blood pressure is salt.
11:04That's why we advise our patients
11:09to avoid eating a lot of salt or salty food.
11:14We only recommend salt.
11:16If we substitute those foods rich in salt
11:20with something like Calabash that we boil,
11:25it's more helpful because it reduces the amount of salt
11:28that we can intake.
11:33Many believe that Calabash is good for our gut health or digestion.
11:38Doc, is it true?
11:41It has dietary fiber.
11:43It's more helpful.
11:45Fiber actually helps in digesting.
11:48We digest our food better.
11:51We get the most of what we eat.
11:54Fruits and vegetables such as Calabash
11:57help in digesting and getting nutrition from our food.
12:06But that's not all.
12:08Some people use Calabash for skin care
12:11because it has anti-aging properties.
12:14Doc, is it true?
12:17The traces of vitamins that we can see in Calabash,
12:20vitamin C,
12:22some of them are antioxidants.
12:24Antioxidants actually help
12:27in terms of delaying the process of aging
12:32and can actually show, can give us fairer skin.
12:37Fruits and vegetables are not just food on the table.
12:41Some of them have health benefits.
12:44Just remember, whatever you try,
12:47make sure that it's safe and good to consult.
12:58According to musculoskeletal medicine expert Dr. Isagani Leal,
13:02it's possible for a cyclist to get injured in these situations.
13:08When he falls,
13:09his glutes or his core should be the first.
13:14In our whole body,
13:15the glutes have the thickest muscle.
13:18So if the first one to hit the road is the first one,
13:21we are safer.
13:23It's a good thing that the cyclist is wearing a helmet before falling.
13:27It's a good thing that the cyclist is wearing a helmet before falling.
13:31But his hand,
13:33he has to bend it when he falls.
13:35When he bends his hand,
13:37there's a tendency for a fracture in his hand.
13:43San Mateo Resort is a favorite destination for cyclists.
13:50It's called the Mountain Biking Capital of the Philippines.
13:53Because of the slope
13:56and the curve of this bike trail.
14:00But one of the curves here,
14:03was stolen by an accident.
14:08Some cyclists even fell off the curve,
14:11or the so-called overshoot.
14:16The curve here is different.
14:19Suddenly,
14:20you need a good,
14:22strong,
14:23and proper frame.
14:26You can also see a cyclist falling here because of the speed of the descent.
14:31If he fell,
14:32he went around in the air,
14:33and he fell down while sitting,
14:36there's a lesser chance of having a severe injury.
14:39But if he hit his head first,
14:42or hit the ground first,
14:43and he's wearing a helmet,
14:44you can avoid or minimize the risk of injury.
14:47He's wearing a helmet,
14:48you can avoid or minimize the risk of
14:51brain concussion,
14:52or brain hemorrhage.
14:57This cyclist also had an overshoot
14:59near a curve,
15:06when he didn't turn right away,
15:09and he hit a tree.
15:13The u-turn was too sharp,
15:16so he wasn't able to give his handlebar properly.
15:22First, the cyclist hit the tree,
15:25until
15:27he fell down on the road.
15:30If the impact was that strong,
15:32and he hit his shoulder,
15:34his injury could be a clavicular fracture,
15:37or a rotator cuff tear.
15:40It's good that he didn't hit his head on the tree,
15:43because if he hit his head on the tree,
15:45there's a higher chance of developing a cerebral concussion.
15:52The other cyclist in the video,
15:54you can see that he bent his foot on the road,
15:57and suddenly,
15:58he fell down,
15:59until
16:00he turned right,
16:02and fell down.
16:05The bike was overshooting,
16:07and he fell on his left shoulder.
16:11The injury could be a clavicular fracture,
16:14on his shoulder.
16:17This cyclist didn't ride a bike,
16:20but he hit a tree,
16:22while riding on the road.
16:25There's a possibility that he can't control his foot.
16:29He could have a knee injury,
16:32ACL,
16:33and posterior cross-sheet ligament,
16:35or ACL,
16:36anterior cross-sheet ligament tear,
16:37on his knee.
16:38Secondly,
16:39he could develop a tibia fracture.
16:44The cyclist was riding backwards,
16:46while he was riding down the curb.
16:49These stunts are dangerous,
16:51according to the expert.
16:54There's a high chance of injury,
16:57because he couldn't see what's in front of him.
17:02His head,
17:03shoulders,
17:04and many other things,
17:05because he doesn't know how to avoid them.
17:08According to the expert,
17:09the cyclist should check his bike,
17:11before riding on the road.
17:14He should also complete his safety gear.
17:16Make sure that your helmet is standard,
17:18on your elbow,
17:19on your knee,
17:20you should complete your gears.
17:23He should wear a miniskirt,
17:25shoes,
17:26and shoes with curves.
17:29On the road signs,
17:32you should know the curves,
17:34the way down and up.
17:36You should know where to watch out.
17:41If you want to be fit and healthy,
17:43let's go for a ride.
17:47But be careful on the road,
17:49to avoid accidents.
