00:46north of Gaza.
00:47The mission assures 130 people have been killed or assassinated every day for the last ten
00:55months.
01:08Hello welcome to From the South, I am Mirma Shelton from the Telesur studios in Havana,
01:13Cuba.
01:14We begin with the news, stay with us.
01:16In the face of the discrediting campaign in international media and social networks which
01:22built a parallel Venezuela once again, the Venezuelan people took to the streets.
01:29More details with our correspondent Gladys Quezada.
01:35Thousands of Venezuelans held a hundred marches this Saturday in the same number of cities
01:41raising the symbols and the slogans that weeks ago were part of the campaign of the
01:46great patriotic Paul and now are part of the Chavista imaginary.
01:51The gallo pinto, the songs, the new slogans, the difference is that this time they assured
01:57what they have already decided, the civic will through the vote and that the fastest
02:03outbreaks try to deny them.
02:10Well, we are here among other things to support our newly elected president Nicolas Maduro
02:16and to show the world and the empire that there are people here defending this election
02:20process that the right wing and the empire itself want to take away from us.
02:25That is why we the people are in the streets just as they are with their lies.
02:32They say that they won, we won with the truth and that is why we are always in the streets
02:37saying that we are the ones who won, we won the people, we won the homeland.
02:42Nicolas Maduro won and we are always in the streets supporting our president Nicolas who
02:46is the one who guarantees us the peace, sovereignty and freedom that we have.
02:57In this march, as a mosaic, there is a room for everyone, women, men, young people, the
03:03elderly, those who practice some faith and those who simply bet on the future of Venezuela
03:10and reject violence.
03:15We are marching in support of president Maduro who was re-elected and we have the conviction
03:22that he is the president and that is why we came to support him, always.
03:31To all the peoples of the world, Venezuela is the one we are showing, Venezuela is not
03:35the one shown by the right wing nat of the coup, that of the neglect Venezuela.
03:40Is different Venezuela is the Venezuela that is showing chavismo today, marching for peace
03:45and sovereignty.
03:47In the Bolivarian nation, in spite of violent outbreaks and discredited campaigns, the revolution
03:54is already setting new goals, perfecting mechanisms and looking ahead.
03:59Meanwhile, its people understand their circumstances and continue.
04:04We are fighting for decent housing, for health care, for everything because I know that our
04:10president is working for the people and we don't want violence.
04:14We want to continue moving forward.
04:17We don't want violence.
04:18We want a tranquility, a spiritual peace.
04:21We want peace for Venezuela that the children in health education, everything is ahead that
04:27our president I know that he is going to help us.
04:31Well, right now there is no violence, but every time there is violence it is generated
04:36by Maria Corina and all her fascist combo supported by the empire.
04:41They are the ones who generate violence and president Maduro always calls for calm and
04:45peace.
04:46That is why we are still here with Nicolas Maduro.
04:50Venezuela understands peace and knows its reasons to face violence with justice and
04:54integrity, especially in times where parallel realities are built in international networks
05:01and media that by calling so much to the supposed democracy, want to deny the voice of those
05:08who march to raise it.
05:10Gladys Casara, TELASUR, Caracas, Venezuela.
05:15The Bolivarian president has reiterated that he wants to get closer to religious groups
05:21such as the Catholic Church because what is currently at the stake is a struggle of good
05:28against evil, with leaders of the extreme right like Elon Musk and the proposals they
05:35defend and represent being members of the latter.
05:41I would like to have excellent relations with the Catholic Church and I am going to
05:49do my best because we are going to achieve it, with the priests of the base, with the
05:54parish priests, with the village priests, to unite the Christian, Evangelical and Catholic
06:00people as we must unite the people of Venezuela.
06:06And speaking of faith, compatriots, we are facing demons.
06:15When I say that we are facing demons, I am not exaggerating.
06:21They have a satanic pact with the satanic church of the United States.
06:28The Sayona wears a medallion and some strange things because she has a pact with Elon Musk
06:39and the satanic church of Detroit.
06:45That is why I say that we are facing a satanic Goliath.
06:53Elon Musk was afraid.
06:58He withdrew from the battle.
07:00He did like the devil when Florentino arrived.
07:03Get out of here.
07:09In the context of the Great Aid of World Solidarity with Venezuela and Peace, several countries
07:16expressed their support for the electoral victory of President Nicolás Maduro and the
07:21democratic process that took place on July 28.

07:32the national situation in Venezuela, while in Chile, a group of leaders demanded President
07:38Gabriel Boric to recognize the legitimate triumph of Nicolás Maduro.
07:42In Paraguay, the electoral accompanists of the country in the electoral process of last
07:46July 28, subscribed a document congratulating Nicolás Maduro and the Venezuelan people
07:50for their democracy celebration.
07:54Meanwhile, in Cuba, a day of solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution took place, led
07:58by several Cuban authorities.

08:04people in defense of democracy.
08:06Also, Petrocaribe workers in Dominique condemned the violence of the global extreme right against
08:12the Venezuelan nation.

08:29electoral process held on July 28.

09:00in favor of peace and against fascism.

09:09of the Venezuelan democracy, while in the United Kingdom, a discussion was held for
09:14the respect of the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela.

09:23Venezuela.

09:36We'll be right back, stay with us.
09:44Welcome back to From the South.
09:54In India, at the third summit of the Voice of the Global South, Cuba once again denounced
09:59the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures as an enormous obstacle to the full
10:06economic and social development of the island.
10:10These were the words of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla,
10:15who participated by satellite in the event organized by the Prime Minister of India,
10:22Narendra Modi.
10:23The summit is an extension of the initiative inspired by the cooperation for all, development
10:30for all, the aspirations of all and the efforts of all.
10:35This important meeting was attended by all the countries of the South whose solidarity
10:41with Cuba was valued by the head of the diplomatic service.
10:51In an increasingly interconnected world, the imposition of unilateral coercive measures
10:56constitutes a serious obstacle to the achievement of economic and social development.
11:01For more than 60 years, the Cuban people have been suffering the serious and negative
11:06effects of a suffocating economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the government
11:12of the United States, which has been intensified to an extreme dimension since 2019.
11:38In Palestine, a mission of the United Nations organizations has subsided in visiting a devastated
11:45north of Gaza.
11:47The image of the destructions and deaths shared by the humanitarian delegation correspond
11:53to the numbers that the whole world recognizes except the United States, Israel and Canada.
12:00The mission assures that more than 40,000 dead is a green milestone for the whole world.
12:07In the records of the organizations, the numbers are overwhelmed, meaning Gaza 130
12:14people have been killed or assassinated every day for 10 months.
12:19They have also ratified that the closure of hospitals, the polio epidemic and the humanitarian
12:25crisis jeopardize the truths that Gaza of the world are waiting for.
12:36In Palestine, at least two people were killed in a drone strike by the Israeli army in the
12:41West Bank.
12:43Palestinian officials report that the shelling by the Israeli army directly hit a car in
12:48which the two people were being held.
12:51In this context, at least 635 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank following
12:58constant attacks by the Israeli army since October 7, while at least 18 Israelis, including
13:05Palestinian soldiers, have been killed in Palestinian attacks, according to official
13:10Israeli figures.
13:16In Israel, thousands demonstrate to demand a ceasefire agreement and a new exchange of
13:22Israeli detainees for Palestinian hostages.
13:26Protesters, including relatives of the detainees, gather in the so-called hostage square to
13:32demand the return of their loved ones.
13:36The citizens also call on Prime Minister Netanyahu and the negotiating team to reach an agreement
13:42with the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas.
13:46It should be noted that the Israeli delegation is on the defensive, rejecting any possibility
13:52of a solution to the conflict and pushing for more attacks in the Palestinian territories.
14:23We don't believe that the government is leading us to the right place.
14:27We don't believe in this government at all.
14:30We want our hostages to be back, and we want to find some sort of solution to what's happening
14:36here.
14:37We cannot afford not to have hope.
14:38I cannot imagine families of the hostages.
14:39I don't know how to survive.
14:40I have to have hope for them.
14:53And we have a second short break coming up.

15:39Welcome back to From the South.
15:41In the northern Chinese province of Taiwan, hundreds of people gather to celebrate the
15:46Festival of the Hungry Ghost.
15:49Water lanterns filled with offering for ancestors and those who perished at sea are lit and
15:56thrown into the ocean.
15:59The intricate structures take the shape of an ancient Chinese guest houses and are an
16:05invitation to the spirits to come ashore ahead of their monks stayed in the world of
16:11the living.
16:1215 water lanterns, each representing a clan, a family association in the northern port
16:19city of Keelung, were set alight and released into the sea by local firefighters near midnight.
16:27In Chinese culture, the seventh month of the lunar calendar is the Ghost Month.
16:33The dead return to wander the earth, people will burn shards of paper and offer food to
16:41these wandering souls to appease them.
16:49We are putting out the water lanterns, inviting our brothers and ancestors to come ashore
16:54for a meal.
16:55So we will release the water lanterns shortly, inviting those who passed away at sea, those
17:00who died in boat accidents, or those who died in plane accidents.
17:05We invite all those people to come ashore for a big feast tomorrow.
17:09So today's important event is releasing the water lanterns, this here is one behind me.
17:14Why we make it in the shape of a house?
17:16It is so the spirits can come here as a place to change their clothes, a place for them
17:20to have rest.
17:22That's why we made the water lanterns in the shape of a house, so they can live here.
17:28In Uruguay, in Iran, Hetmatanesh has become the 28th site to be recognized by UNESCO as
17:36a World Heritage Site, highlighting the historical importance of the city of Hamadan.
17:43This ancient site symbolizes the unity of the Iranian people, as well as being deeply
17:49intertwined with the Middle Parthians and Sassanid dynasties.
17:56Formerly known as Etbatana, Hetmatanet was the capital of the powerful Median Empire,
18:02and later became a nerve center of the Ashurmanid Empire.
18:07Despite its importance, much of this site remains unexplored, suggesting the possibility
18:14of official discoveries that could further illuminate the ancient history of Iran.
18:20UNESCO's listing not only celebrates the country's rich and extensive history, but
18:26also reaffirms its crucial role in the development of the region's cultural landscape.
18:38And here in Latin America, with great enthusiasm and pride, Nicaragua kicks off the celebration
18:45with its International Holiday 2024.
18:49This year, the celebration not only highlights the country's rich cultural heritage, but
18:55also its remarkable progress in the field of education.
19:02With cultural events and tributes to the national symbols of Nicaragua, schools throughout the
19:07country have begun the celebration of national holidays to commemorate historical events.
19:13The 203rd anniversary of the independence of Central America, and the 168th anniversary
19:19of the Battle of San Jacinto.
19:32I think it is very important and interesting to learn about our culture as Nicaraguans,
19:37about our heroes, and to talk about their great heroic deeds.
19:43I think it is very important because it is part of our culture, IT is part of our tradition,
19:48and it is part of our national identity.
19:56We salute our blessed and always free homeland Nicaragua Soberano, always remembering the
20:02historical memory of our national heroes who defended our country in that true context
20:06of struggle against the filibusters of foreign intervention.
20:10A constant battle that we had, but that Nicaragua has always given good sons to defend and fight
20:16for that sovereignty, for dignity, and identity.
20:32The festivities include parades of thousands of students, as well as performances by bands
20:38and rhythmic gymnastics, reflecting the diversity and cultural richness of the nation.
20:54We are making students aware of the importance of patriotic symbols, and how important it
21:00is that we respect them.
21:07In the context in which we live, the thanks to God we live in times of peace, in times
21:12of love, comes to strengthen those foundations that have allowed Nicaragua to move forward
21:17throughout its history.
21:22At the center of this celebration, special emphasis has been placed on recent achievements
21:26in education, underscoring the country's commitment to development and equal opportunity.
21:34For example, we highlight English as a true second language, a country project that puts
21:39in the hands of all our children and adolescents a new language, a new language, a new experience
21:45in a free and public way for all.
21:52Nicaragua, with a deep sense of pride and unity, joyfully celebrates sovereignty and
21:59peace during these national holidays.
22:02This festive spirit not only commemorates history and national identity, but also reinforces
22:07the commitment of Nicaraguans to the future of their country.
22:16And we have come to the end of this news brief.
