00:00The progress of the 4.76-kilometer Samal Island-Davao City Connector or SIDC project
00:07led by the Department of Public Works and Highways continues.
00:10According to the DPWH, the physical accomplishment of the project, which will be completed in September 2028, has reached almost 12 percent.
00:18In the inspection carried out by the DPWH yesterday,
00:21the construction of the work area in Pakiputan Strait and land viaducts was made clear
00:28while also focusing on the safety of workers and ships passing by the active marine traffic areas.
00:36The project, which is worth P23.52 billion, was funded by the Official Development Assistance
00:43which includes a four-lane extra-dose bridge, ramps, roundabouts, and marine and land viaducts.
00:51It is expected to provide a huge benefit to connect Davao City and Samal Island
00:57as well as to boost the economy and tourism in the region.
