00:00On to Joe Rodon, who has been one of the lead standout performers of late. It's an interesting
00:08one, because we've had various discussions throughout this season of individuals who
00:11have stood out at various times. Obviously, you've had the likes of Ihe Otenaka has done
00:14well at various points, Sloggy Ramazani has done well at various points, and at the minute,
00:19he's the one, Joe Rodon. And so why is he standing out, Lee? Why has he been so good
00:23of late?
00:24I just think he's a very, very good player. I mean, I think the one that's standing out
00:27at the moment consistently, like over the last 10, maybe like 9, 10, 11 games is probably
00:31Jadon Bogle. He's like doing it week in, week out at the moment. I think he's been an excellent
00:34signing from Sheffield United, but Joe Rodon just really stood out for me in that Burnley
00:38game. And it was like, it was the typical game where you needed somebody like that,
00:41you know, like obviously, like, you know, obviously you've got to try and keep a clean
00:44sheet and he was, you know, he was just so commanding in the air, you know, like winning
00:47lots of headers and stuff like real, like, you know, big, powerful centre half. There's
00:51more to him than that as well. He's got good passing vision and ability on him as well
00:55and stuff. And, you know, you're right. We talk off quite often about, you know, who's
00:58been the standout player. And, you know, often we've talked about who's Leeds' best player,
01:02you know, and obviously like, sometimes it was easy back in the day, you know, when you
01:04had like Rafinha, it was just a no brainer and stuff like that. And then obviously I
01:07have people like Somerville and Routier and it's a bit more difficult now because it's
01:10like, it's more of a sort of like, you know, they all come together as one really. And
01:13there's not like one sort of standout shining player, if you like, they've just got lots
01:17of very, very good players. But he's definitely right up there. I think at the moment, I think
01:21he's, you know, obviously it was massive when they signed him in the summer, £10 million.
01:24I think it was pretty good business. The thing is Erodon as well, he's still only 27,
01:28you know, and for a cent and a half, obviously that means he's probably got a long time ahead
01:30of him and stuff. And, you know, you start looking already now at like, hopefully who's
01:34going to be able to do it in the Premier League. And he has played in the Premier League before,
01:38but he hasn't played that many games in the Premier League. You know, obviously Tottenham
01:41signed him a fair few years ago, then he went out on loan and whatever. And obviously, you
01:44know, couldn't really get in the team all that much. I think it's, what is it, 819 minutes
01:48he's played of Premier League football. So it's not a lot really. And, you know, and
01:51I think it's only 15 appearances, a lot of which have been from the bench. So he's someone
01:54who will be absolutely chomping at the bit to get promoted to Leeds United. And he said
01:57that was one of the reasons basically why he came back, you know, obviously after last
02:00year's near-miss and stuff in the playoff final. So, yeah, massive, massive player for
02:04them. I've said a few times, he reminds me of Jonathan Woodgate and, you know, he's sort
02:07of like, that's how it feels, you know, like he's just a centre-back that you can really
02:10rely on and stuff. And he should score more goals really, like in set pieces, but I'm
02:14sure that will come as well. But he's, you know, in terms of like important players for
02:18Leeds, he's right up there, no doubt about that. Very, very impressed with him and goes
02:21about saying that he will be key to them going up, hopefully.
02:24Yeah, it's certainly just one where he just looks composed and assured in his own ability,
02:29I think as well, because obviously you get like a lot of ballplayers at the halves and
02:33you get a lot of confidence at the halves these days, but sometimes their overconfidence
02:37can be their own downfall at times as well. But yeah, he just, he does look quite assured
02:41and just composed at the back, which is what you want when you've got such talent ahead
02:45of you, you just want someone at the back who knows exactly what they're doing, but
02:50isn't afraid as well to show them, to show the rest of the team what they can also do
02:54as well. So fair play to Joe Rojan.
