00:00Hello and a very good morning to you on this frosty Thursday. Yes it's a cold
00:04start to the day. Now there are ice warnings this morning across northern
00:08Scotland, the north and the west of Northern Ireland associated with any
00:11showers. Rain continues just pushing up towards Shetland, a driving wind here and
00:16that wind clipping Caithness as well as Aberdeenshire. The wind also running
00:20down across the North Channel so affecting Northern Ireland, the Isle of
00:23Man, northern and western parts of Wales and a few showers are likely. Inland with
00:28a lighter breeze, yes one or two fog patches can't be ruled out and
00:33certainly a bit of a frosty start particularly in rural spots. Now last
00:37night we saw the rain across central and southeastern areas of England. It's
00:41clear in Kent through the first few hours and then the cloud will break. For
00:45most it's a dry day, a pleasant day as those temperatures slowly rise and the
00:50frost lifts from the ground. We continue with that rain though across Shetland
00:54and a strong wind here. Any showers along the coastline will tend to fade away and
00:58for most blue sky and some sunshine as the cloud just drifts across the sky.
01:03Later on though cloud will thicken across Northern Ireland as well as
01:06western Scotland heralding more wet weather on its way. Before that though
01:10temperatures come in around 5 to 8 degrees Celsius. So that ridge which has
01:15brought us settled conditions today tends to fade away as this weather front
01:19moves in. It will weaken all the while across the north but you will see more
01:23rain across more central and eastern areas. Into Saturday the winds pick up
01:26towards more western parts and again another band of cloud and also some
01:30weakening rain edging its way eastwards through Sunday. Perhaps some brighter
01:35skies either side on Sunday and here's your outlook through Monday. Yes still
01:39windy across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England. Now through this
01:43evening the frost returns across much of Scotland, England and Wales but the rain
01:46arrives heavy at times as it extends towards central parts of Scotland, snow
01:51over the Highlands and by midnight Wales, northwest England, down towards the
01:55Midlands and then the West Country. Notice some wet snow over Pennines as
01:59well. Clearer weather coming in across Northern Ireland through the early hours
02:01of tomorrow morning but it is a cold start to the day. Temperatures dipping
02:05close to freezing if not below. Even so through the morning the rain becomes
02:10confined to eastern counties of England. So from Hull to London perhaps South
02:14Hampton. Elsewhere legacy of cloud but some brighter skies, Northern Ireland, the
02:18West Country, South West Wales, North East Scotland. Here's your outlook then
02:23through Saturday. A fair amount of cloud then the winds pick up from the
02:26northwest with more rain arriving. Temperatures before that eight or nine
02:30degrees Celsius. For more details of the outlook check out our 10-day trend on
02:35YouTube. This week it's with honour. See you later.
