00:00I think that's always been the case with models.
00:07They only consider us as good looking people, but can't act.
00:12But with Amaran, I hope that has changed, because the only feedback that I've gotten
00:16from Amaran is, he's an actor, because the looks had to be kept behind to play that guy.
00:22So yeah.
00:23We were very serious about work, Amaran was all about work.
00:33There was so much unity with everybody, especially with my director.
00:37There were so many instances like, there was this special instance that I would like to
00:41mention.
00:42After a take, I went to the camera and I was watching my take and sir was sitting, he was
00:47also looking at it.
00:49And then he suddenly says, Roman, who's this person?
00:53So I looked behind and said, oh, that's my cousin, sir.
00:55So he's like, no, no, Roman, not this.
00:57This guy on screen, when I say action, who's this person?
01:00That's not you.
01:01So how do you switch?
01:04That was a big compliment for me because, you know, a new actor is doing a big film.
01:09To tell him that, it was his way to tell me that you're a good actor.
01:13So yeah, that's something very close to me.
01:21Also, my director, Mr. Danish Renju, we were planning to do a feature film.
01:28So while we were discussing that, that's when he sent me this script, he said, Roman, I'm
01:31making this short film, do you want to read it?
01:35So I read it and I felt very connected to the story, even though I didn't have much
01:39to do in it.
01:40But the whole story is about Kabir, Dr. Kabir.
01:43And this was a real life incident that has happened in Kashmir.
01:47So I wanted to work with the directors.
01:48But that's why I said yes to My Father's Doctor.
01:57I am my, I am Kashmiri.
01:59I was raised in Nainital, but my parents are from Kashmir.
02:02So maybe that's why people associate Kashmir with me so much.
02:08And thankfully, the scripts that have come in, I don't pick up scripts because they are
02:12Kashmiri, just that I somehow resonated with those scripts.
02:15And that's why I took them.
02:22Sushmita ji had been throughout the journey of my shooting.
02:25So she knew what was happening.
02:27And she told me that, I see you finally coming to your own with this film.
02:32So that was a very big compliment for me.
02:34And it has boosted my skills as an actor.
02:43It's mutual respect.
02:44If you have that, any relation can survive.
02:48So I think we have that for each other.
02:55You don't have to manage what is real.
02:57You don't need to manage that.
02:59So I think that's why we don't speak much about it.
03:02What two people share is between them.
03:03And that's how it is.
03:11See, any art form is cathartic for me.
03:14So it helps me channelize my energy.
03:16So it balances me out actually.
