00:00Good afternoon, well for many of us it's a cloudy start to the new month but
00:05there will be some glimmers of sunshine out there for some of us. Taking a look
00:09at the bigger picture then we have an area of high pressure out towards the
00:13east, a squeeze in the ice bars across the north and west with this frontal
00:17system that will gradually start moving through and generally bring in some
00:21patchy light rain and drizzle as we go through a Sunday. But back to the rest of
00:27this afternoon then we hold on to this blanket of cloud across much of central
00:31southern England and in towards the north and east. Thick enough still for
00:36some patchy drizzle at times especially over the hills. Across Northern Ireland
00:41and Scotland a cloudy picture here too with outbreaks of rain and drizzle at
00:46times. Some strong winds as well with coastal gales across the Outer Hebrides
00:51but there is a slither of sunshine in between so the best of the sunshine
00:56today across northern parts of Wales into the northwest of England and
01:00towards the northeast and perhaps even some sunshine just coming through across
01:05the far south of England as we end Saturday. But for temperatures generally
01:11around average highs around 9 or 10 degrees but probably feeling quite
01:15chilly underneath the low cloud and murk across central parts of England today.
01:20Now as we go through the rest of the afternoon and evening time we hold on to
01:25this blanket of cloud gradually move its way further northwards into northern
01:29parts of England. Across the far southeast we'll tap into some drier air
01:33from the near continent so clearer skies developing with a touch of frost as well.
01:38So turning colder here but out towards the west turning increasingly wet and
01:43windy across Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland. So some heavy spells of rain
01:48to come as we start Sunday morning. Here temperatures generally holding up at
01:54around six to eight degrees but underneath the clear skies across East
01:58Anglia and the southeast of England temperatures quickly falling away so a
02:01cold but bright start to Sunday morning with a touch of frost. So plenty of
02:08sunshine on offer through Sunday morning across the southeast of England
02:11especially compared to today. Further towards the west this band of rain will
02:16continue to slowly edge in. It will generally start fizzling out just to
02:21bring more patchy rain at times across northwestern parts of England into Wales
02:25and then eventually towards the southwest of England as well. Behind
02:30that turning much drier and brighter across Northern Ireland later on Sunday
02:35and western parts of Scotland. As for temperatures though generally staying
02:41around average for the time of year so highs of around eight or nine degrees. So
02:47as we go through Sunday evening then this cloud and rain will continue to
02:51persist but it will generally fizzle out at times. The best of the clear skies
02:56will be across the southeast of England so once again temperatures quickly
03:00falling away here to give a touch of frost to Monday morning but we'll start
03:05to see some outbreaks of rain moving in from the west as well across the
03:09northwest of Scotland. So this that band of rain that will move through to this
03:13frontal system as we go through into Monday and Tuesday will gradually start
03:18sinking its way south and eastwards. We do have a squeeze in the isobars so
03:21turning increasingly breezy at times but as we go through Wednesday there's
03:25higher pressure building so hopefully settling things down to bring a good
03:29deal of sunshine some cold nights to come with perhaps some wintry showers
03:33that will follow through behind across parts of Scotland. That's all from me for
03:38now though but make sure to hit subscribe so you don't miss any updates
03:41and I'll see you soon, bye bye.
